Inquiring minds.....
Sorry I disagree
I think it will happen this week.
In a brokered convention, more or less, the primaries are null and void. Each delegation gets together and delegates start to horsetrade. Because there are a lot (I’ve been looking for the exact number state-by-state) of super delegates which are essentially un-committed big politicians with party sway (relatively) they can pull the convention around if they team up across states. I could see Graham, Cris, Martinez, Perry, Sununu, Arnold, etc. swinging behind McCain and then pulling the Hucksters along by offering VP to him. Meanwhile McCain under the “old” rules is “next in line.”
I suspect you are right and I think it will assist Fred
Oh good grief, Steffie has his panel lined up like the candidates in the debate.
This looks silly.
I think that’ll depend in part on whether they want to win—and how responsive they are to donors and the national committee. But point well taken.
I think Fred needs some saturation TV commercials in a few upcoming states to overcome the media’s being so biased against covering him. And they really have to play more of an upbeat, ‘Morning in America’ theme than his usual short statement that he’s running because of the great dangers of terrorism and our bankrupting the next generation.
His positions and principles show a great optimism, but I think he needs some media-consultant help in painting the rosy picture and belief in people that is the basis of his views. For whatever reason, for example, he focuses on the wisdom of our constitution limiting government powers because of the corrupting influence of power, rather than what the constitution optimistically leaves for the people to choose, figure out, and do for themselves and, of their own volition, for each other.
Good morning Rodguy. How cold did it get in the Keys? We got to just 30 or 32 depending on what thermostat/report you believe but it seemed to screw up my irrigation system. I need to run down to the farm now for the third day in a row to try to fix it.
I’ll check back later (soon I hope).
That anemic record should prove she is NOT the candidate for CHANGE.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Bonus Question: What is the state motto for New Hampshire?
MinuteGal got it! Now, have you ever wondered how those inmates in the New Hampshire State Penitentiary making license plates feel about it?... /gdr (grinnin', duckin' & runnin')
Maybe this is a tactic to get the conservative/republican support first and then go full blast with advertising expanding his position and more upbeat later in the campaign or if he go the nomination after the nomination, maybe a plan his people feel is the best way to spend the money.
Hey, I grew up in NH!
They haven’t actually got too many criminals up there, I imagine in part because if their prisoners are punching out license plates they must be thinking, ‘Yep, NH really does a good job of protecting individuals’ rights and freedoms from those who would trespass against them!’
For the record, super delegates are Democrats, at least as far as CO goes. At our state convention every person has to win through a vote to go to the GOP national convention. We have no person who automatically goes to our national convention. Four years ago even our governor as well as US Senators and Reps all had to win to go.
I resemble those remarks!
