The New Hampshire Republican Party announced Saturday that it will no longer support a Republican candidates forum scheduled for Sunday on FOX.
Party officials decided to withdraw as co-sponsers after candidates California Rep. Duncan Hunter and Texas Rep. Ron Paulwere left uninvited.
Hunter posted only tiny percentage in Iowa disqualifying him under the criteria set by FOX, but remains in the race.
Having never received an initial invitation, Pauls capture of 10% in Iowa Thursday, still did not convince organizers to allow his participation.
New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen released a statement Saturday making the separation official.
The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field. Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures. Consistent with that tradition, we believe all recognized major candidates should have an equal opportunity to participate in pre-primary debates and forums, wrote Cullen.
This principle applies to tonights debates on ABC as well as Sundays planned forum on FOX. The New Hampshire Republican Party believes Congressmen Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter should be included in the FOX forum on Sunday evening. Our mutual efforts to resolve this difference have failed, he continued.
While we understand that FOX News continues to move forward it is with regret, the New Hampshire Republican Party hereby withdraws as a partner in this forum.
New Hampshire’s time of being first in the nation is probably over after this year. The back room dealers are simply afraid of what can happen.
I personally think that this bunching up of the primaries was very likely a product of Clinton machinations, which hopefully will backfire big time on them.
Having a primary vote 10 months before an election is kinda stupid anyhow, but powers seem be intent on undermining the potential New Hampshire impact in the future.
This happening at all is disgusting, this happening in America is beyond the pale and unforgivable.
She is pretty.
You are 1000% correct. Hunter and Paul should be allowed to debate, especially after all the hard work they put into their campaigns.
And I am a Romney supporter, but c'mon Fox. Picking and choosing like THAT is sheer elitism.
Looks like ABC's ploy to try to bury DH alive backfired.
ABC News is eliminating Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter and Democrats Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel from its prime- time presidential debates Saturday night because they did not meet benchmarks for their support.
From my own perspective ABC itself looks like a dinomediasaur in a pit up to its nose in tar. LOL.
Fox fans may want to note that Murdoch Picks Liberal Son As Successor. Allow me to also call FReeper attentiion to a thread title Politics and the Internet Meet in the Rise of the Wired Electorate. Paraphrasing actor Fred Dalton Thompson's Maj. Gen. Melrose Hayden Barry movie character - You see this new media? One of these days it's going to amount to something.
Hunter won one delegate in Wyoming. That’s one more than Huckleberry won. Fred only won two, and that idiot Romeny walked away with the rest I believe. I support Fred but wish Hunter would come on strong, soon!
>>>Fred only won two
The list says Fred has one delegate and one alternate. If the alternate counts, then Duncan Hunter won two delegates too.
Somebody said that just like the RINOs, Fox started out conservative, then went to the middle.
Of course in Rudy’s case, maybe I should say Fox went to the LEFT!
The Huckester’s plug will be soon pulled when more folks see what a stealth lib. he is.
Alright, that's great, I am glad to hear it. All I saw was the one delegate, not the alternate for Hunter. Not bad for someone who has been counted out already by the MSM! I truely hope Hunter wins the nomination.
Here are the returns for the Wyoming Caucus:

It says Thompson and Hunter each have one delegate and one alternate.
No surprise there. We told Rudybots that Rudy would not fly in 'flyover' country long ago...
I always viewed it like having an official, approved, 'opposition' media source, sort of a Pravda/Tass relationship.
It has facillitated the redefinition of conservative in the public psyche far to the left of where it should be, imho.
Romney: 8 delegates
Thompson: 3 delegates
Hunter: 1 delegate
Oh! I get what happened. Make sure you refresh the WYGOP homepage. What happened is they’ve been changing the file name through the day. They change the first word (spelled out) in the file name to match the number of chosen delegates. So what you linked was “nine da 2008.xls”, but the most recent version is “twelve da 2008.xls”.
It’s all Greek to me, but thanks!
:>)
You have no idea how long it took for me to make that silly post..heh
“They seemed conservative after the years of the liberal networks, but the image wore off after people realized it was only a relative thing.”
That’s probably it, plus Fox News might have moved even more to the middle as of late.
Yes. I found that out the hard way. Thank you very much.
Good for them. Hunter placed 3rd in Wyoming before that debate.
