In that case, I’m sure that you’ll have Hillary.

Then what is the purpose of the “Alternate”?

The alternate replaces the delegate in case of resignation or death of the delegate, or can temporarily replace in case of illness or other short absence

Interestingly, the replacement must be of the same presidential preference and sex of the delegate, according to the Democratic National Committee Delegate Selection Rules

Haha. Where’s the Huckster’s victories on this chart ????

Oh yea. It's a bright world without Huckabust in the running.

I don’t see Fred supporters as crazily defending their candidate. I see them as crazily defending conservatism. Free Republic is a conservative forum, not a Republican forum and as such you should expect nothing less.

New spreadsheet update. Romney just won another delegate. That is a total of 6 and makes him outright victorious in Wyoming with no other candidate able to have more delegates.

Romney’s dirty trick? Floating a false story that Fred was about to withdraw and endorse McCain.

The way Myth Romney has behaved with his dirty Iowa trick against Fred and the way he has campaigned with dollars and deceit. I feel sorry for anybody who would support him.

I've felt that way, but I'm leaning toward not blaming him for the actions of his supporters....Besides, I'm not so sure it wasn't Jimmy Carter's...er the Hucksters supporters that planted that...or did I miss something?

Yes or no, do a candidate's supporters reflect on that candidate?

His supporters on Free Republic are robbing him of that advantage.

Sewage flows both ways...

How very noble of you to stand by your ideology and stay home while damning our troops by effectively putting a lib in charge of them. I’m sure they’d thank you if they weren’t busy putting their arses on the line in the name of freedom while you sit on yours and have a hissy fit because your candidate isn’t winning.

Well, this thread is about Wyoming. Romney has 6, Hunter 1 and Thompson 1. The eastern part of Wyoming has been kind to Romney with 2 of his 6 from there. That is the opposite side from Utah.

And that makes it okay to support a Marxist apologist for necklacing?

Support a Marxist apologist for necklacing? Where do you get that?

I won’t vote for a liberal either, or a proven liar. If the GOP nominates one, they forfeit my vote, and the responsibility for the consequences is theirs, not mine.

.........Yes or no, do a candidate’s supporters reflect on that candidate?......

They can, but not always. But I think you’re being unreasonable in your thinking that only the ones you’re seeing, only the ones who are making fools of themselves are the only ones out there. That’s all I was getting at.

Sure, Fred has followers who are fools. So does Mitt. And McCain, and every other candidate out there. But I don’t think that any of their followers taken as a whole are represented in a majority by the foolish; that is, the foolish are the minority.

Besides, I think the more important question would be don’t your enemies reflect upon the candidate. I say yes, the fact that the media have more or less self proclaimed themselves as enemies of Fred says a lot. Considering how far to the left the media is.

..............Based on the representation that Mr. Thompson has received from his most rabid supporters on Free Republic, I’m not inclined to vote for him at all............

So indeed you are looking at nothing else but the foolish.

......Instead, the worst of his supporters are driving me away and likely driving away other voters who would otherwise have been happy to support Mr. Thompson if he had won the nomination.............

Perhaps this may help..........

I’ve been undecided for a long time, but recently became a fredhead because of his stance on campaigning. He’s not ambitious like most others, rather he’s in it to serve the country.

I think part of what’s driving some fred supporters up the wall, and that includes myself as well but I try extremely hard to keep my composure; History is what it is. We know what wins elections, and that’s conservatism. We’ve all been complaining about the lack of conservative leadership in washington. Right now, we have a chance to change that. But those who are leading the primaries aren’t really all that conservative. So in other words, all of those who have been complaining all of these years about the lack of conservative leadership were nothing more than whining in the wind? I choose not to believe that, but on the surface it does appear that way. And that appearance can...... and I think is...... driving some people up the wall.

So the Jackson Hole area went for Romney? If so, there’s a shocker. Not.

Well, “the GOP” doesn’t nominate anyone. The GOP voters do. If they don’t vote the way you want, that’s your fault. Your personal fault. Your failure.

You did not campaign hard enough. You did not construct adequately persuasive text or speeches. You did not compile proper phone lists. You . . . personally . . . are responsible for your failure. Conservatives accept responsibility for their actions, both successful and failing.

But you need not worry. You will have a choice between someone left of center and someone right of center. They will both be reaching towards the center, regardless of who they are, but it will be clear which is which.
