Coalition forces kill al-Qaeda in Iraq leader (Baghdad)
BAGHDAD, Iraq Coalition forces killed a terrorist leader and two other terrorists during operations on December 27 to disrupt al-Qaeda in Iraq networks operating near the capital city.
During the operation, Coalition forces targeted Muhammad Khalil Ibrahim, the deputy military leader for the al-Qaeda in Iraq network operating south of Baghdad. Ibrahim was a key planner in numerous attacks against Coalition forces operating in the Mahmudiyah area, and was also involved in the facilitation of foreign terrorists and weapons. Also, Ibrahim and other senior al-Qaeda members were allegedly planning to conduct a large-scale attack against Coalition forces in the near future.
Intelligence reports led Coalition forces to a location in Mahmudiyah where Ibrahim was believed to be operating. Coalition forces confirmed his presence and supporting aircraft engaged the time-sensitive target. Once the area was secure, the ground force assessed that three terrorists were killed in the strike, to include Ibrahim. The two other terrorists were assessed to be leaders associated with the terrorist network in Iskandariyah. The ground force also discovered a machine gun, a suicide vest and several grenades in Ibrahims vehicle.
This was a dangerous terrorist who will never again harm innocent Iraqis or the security forces that protect them, said Maj. Anton Alston, MNF-I spokesman. We will continue to relentless pursue terrorist leaders, like Ibrahim, who threaten our forces and attempt to deny the Iraqi people a future of their choice.

Death from above,
So, Muhammad Khalil Ibrahim - are ya feelin' the love?
Are we bad or what?
Don't you mean OBAMA bin Laden? Oh, that's right, OBAMA is the DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATE...
Is there a difference between OSAMA BIN LADEN and OBAMA the Clinton beater?
Beautiful.
Lindsay and Brittany's latest benders.
Nice shootin’, boys!!!
Too bad. It would have been nice to have him alive and send him to some country where “rigorous interrogation” was permissible. We need people like him to answer questions like “From whom do you get your money and where can we find them?”
Will this be on the Nightly News tonight???
But, but...Democratic Senator Harry Reid already said the surge wasnt working and that the war was lost...
The operation was on 12/27 and the news release was a week later.... I'd have to think that they were processing the intel from whatever they gathered at the site.
If a biggie like Ibrahim was meeting with two local commanders, there was probably at least one computer among them.
Note, too, that the good guys were acting on "intelligence reports" -- they've already cracked somebody else.
Jobs I'd really prefer to avoid. "Smith! Front and center. Here's yer M-4. Jones! Here's yer rocket launcher. Drill! Here's yer sponge and a healthy supply of baggies..."
What a nice thought!
I heard that. Per the media and DemonRats, Pres. Bush is evil for having secret facilities overseas where foreigners interrogate prisoners. What are you supposed to do when the judicial and legislative branch create a situation where you’re not even supposed to talk to these pieces of human debris in the field without a lawyer representing them?
In the eyes of the media and rats, they deserve every ounce of “due process” that an American would get in an American court of law, but G.W. Bush and the U.S. Military are guilty as charged for the mere accusation (by al Qaeda) of bombing wedding parties and 300,000 Iraqi civilians for the fun of it.
Of course, it doesn’t help when the civilian govt. commissions a blue ribbon commission with promises that heads will roll every time these asshats spin a yarn that America is bombing baby milk factories and wedding parties at 3:00 in the morning 75 miles out in the open desert.
