After witnessing the Iowa primary process, I am convinced more than ever the MSM (INCLUDING FNC) are choosing this nations candidates through subversion.
Presented with no other outlets for information, voters continue to focus their attention on the establishment media who as we are witnessing, protect each other and their grip on voter attention/opinion.
FreeRepublic.com is by far the most powerful conservative information outlet and reasoned debate forum on the web.
What I have learned here (key point) has had more of a profound personal impact on my political opinion than any other information source in my life and I am very greatful for that as I'm sure many others are as well.
There is no memory hole here, and Freepers can't be spun.
Thank you Mr. Robinson. Profoundly.
FreeRepublic's potential influence is an enormous threat to the MSM/DBM, but for now FreeRepublic is in check.
My point:
Advertise. Go on the offensive. A membership drive of National proportion.
Run a campaign through local chapters for FreeRepublic as "Your Source of Information", "The Next Media", whatever.
- or -
Raise money for 30 second campaign spots on Fox and CNN.
- or -
Both.
Create some new signs and banners with www.FreeRepublic.com on them and hit the corners.
Find a way to turn this Nations attention to FreeRepublic through a bonafied marketing campaign as if FreeRepublic was a candidate for president.

“People, who dont donate are Freeploaders and are in the same category as illegal aliens demanding free services.”
Some good people here may not be able to afford it but contribute none the less. Lets not tell them they HAVE to give...much like the Dems who tell me I have to provide National Healthcare...or entitlements.
Thats why its called a donation.
Yes. FR is a labor of love and regimentation would alter that. Many here donate big bucks to keep the doors open and have earned the respect and gratitude of those of us who are brothers under the sun but not in a position to match dollar for dollar. I’d hate to see the ambience here change. It’s pretty rare.
Fred has done a lot more than 'hint' at it. You should take a look at:
Sorry my response in post 21 should have been to Grampa Dave.
Thanks.
Sorry, you are talking to a guy on a pension and social security. The pension is the same as 12 years ago.
Anyone, who can’t find money for a modest monthly pledge to Free Republic is a free loader and not a conservative.
Maybe the station could be “Liberal” from 8AM to 6PM, Conservative from 6PM-11PM (we probably go to sleep early - have to work the next day!), then
Liberal again from 11PM-5AM, and conservative from 5-8AM (so we can watch the news while we’re getting ready for work...).
Yea, that really p***ed me off because I had a few episodes here on FR where I was attacked by other FReepers for expressing my opinion. Their argument was “don’t give BOR material to make us look bad”. Sorry, but my opinion does not (and should not) take BOR into consideration. It became an environment of FReepers attacking other FReepers just to make themselves feel like better people. If we have to worry about offending BOR, Free Republic isn’t free.
Yes. Those were interesting times. I remember the self sensorship small wave. Hopefully, it put a placeholder in everyones mind - the MSM will try to tear every post down in an effort to discredit if FR reaches a certain threat level with them.
We can not allow either the MSM to get away with such attacks and we also need to be wary of MSM types coming on this board and posting “sound bites” for such an attack.
Yesterday we had some guy post his hatred of mormons and love of the true gospel. He got zot, but it stood out to me as a reminder of the vigilance required.
Interesting tight rope.
