You’re proving Rush’s point with that statement. Evangelicals ARE lemmings if they vote for a guy based solely on faith and without regard to his actual record!
~”Im one Catholic who wonders if once Huckabees finished demonizing the Mormons, hell decide were next on the hit list.”~
Nah, you make up too many voters. We don’t have that luxury.
But, Unam Sanctam, Huckabee’s nothing -like- Clinton. He plays the guitar to get votes.
Jesus was also a big supporter of being responsible with money -especially other people’s money. Remember the parable of the good and bad stewards? The master goes away leaving his property in the hands of the two stewards. One steward wasted the master’s money and abused his servants while the other steward invested the money wisely and took care of the estate with care. Jesus said that the responsible steward would be rewarded.
Compare this to the stewards of the nation’s money. Are they good stewards or bad? Are they responsible with the taxpayers money? Do they respect that this is money that belongs to others? If people in government paid attention to this parable, our national finances would be in much better condition.
“When have the religious right not gotten the candidate they wanted nominated? Who and in what year?”
Pat Robertson came in #2, ahead of then Vice President George HW Bush, in the 1988 Iowa Caucuses.
“I hope we answer the alarm clock and take this nation back for Christ.” - Huckabee
If that represents his view, then I’m not interested and will vote otherwise in my primary. Maybe I could care less if he were to take this nation back for Zeus, Buddha, Mohammed or whatever floats his boat, problem that I find might be that these statements just sound like hot air and if he maybe into big government, forget about it. I’m pro life but I’m not a supporter for big government, return responsiblity back to the individuals that make up our republic, stop with this religious or political socialism. Maybe we don’t want to win in November, well Iowa maybe just one state there are still quite a few left to go, we’ll see how this strategy pans out.
Did GWB?
When has a Constitutional Amendment been debated in the primaries? In any primary, of any year?
In any House or Senate races? When have the American people been asked to debate this?
And what does an abortion amendment have to do with our troops in two war theaters, right now, this very night they are sitting in a sandbox with headchoppers surrounding them on all sides, and Syria and Iran with nukes, FGS.
Exit polls prove Rush was right.
Sadly right.
This is bad news for the Republican party, that will enable the Democrats to win majorities and peg the GOP, with alas some justification, as a bunch of creationist boobs who will fall for the ol’ preacher-man routine over real credible candidates for President.
The ClusterHuck will mean the next Jimmy Carter - Obama - will be president.
One can be. I miss those kinds of GOP social+economic conservative voters. Where did they go?
To me he is Bill Clinton without all the personal baggage, with better skills and decision making faculties, shaded to the right, instead of the left.
Hardly worth all the sniveling about being dissed, a GOP stepchild, threatening 3rd party, leaking emails about how often a candidate goes to church, (FT) who is a good enough Christian, what candidate has an unacceptable religion, and who will lose their soul and go to hell for voting for a certain candidate (RG).
Good grief.
Romney is still in the game. He got the percentage he needed and the result he needed to keep going. He’s our best candidate for the general election.
Obama will be a truly dreadful President. As bad as Carter. NO, I take that back. Huckabee will be a Carter. Obama will just be Liberal.
Wow, Obama could have a running mate.
“I dont recall any Republican Christian politician using and abusing his religion for political gain as much as Huckabee. It smacks of Bill Clintons photo ops walking to church with a Bible in his hand,”
Huckster is another Clinton, just with an R instead of a D.
Yeah, but Robertson is sane.
Look, I’m as staunch a Romney guy as anybody. But we should not kid ourselves. Romney didn’t take a knockout blow, but he’s doubled over and wheezing. This was -very- damaging to his campaign.
The only way for Romney to win is to beat McCain in New Hampshire - a less likely feat, now - and take advantage of a Huckabee meltdown, which may or may not happen. I’d give him one chance in ten.
You got it correct except that The Hildabeast will take the big states & win the nomination. Tonight proves that Iowa stands for "idiots out walking around".
People don’t quit smoking because you ban the item, they do so because you present them with medical evidence that maybe smoking might not be such a wise decision, same with drugs in general. We need real leadership now, not yesterday or someday but now. Leadership that doesn’t just mouth respect but acts with respect to the people in this great country. People that try to ban things have no respect for individual rights, hence they disrespect the constitution. Either you love us warts and all or maybe you don’t belong in the Whitehouse. Should we ban gasoline too since people can hurt themselves with it? Time for the politic to change, time for new ideas, and responsibility. Huckabee appears to give off a distrust of common sense, if he thinks of banning smoking.
Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and hes got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.
I do not know Duncan Hunter’s strategy. However, he may yet surprise us even before New Hampshire. Because he has campaigned in Wyoming, which has a race before New Hampshire, and no one else is campaigning there.

Then theres New Hampshire.
This man is dangerous and Iowas have just bought his snake oil!
