I did see mention that he might be selling to gangs. If so, then he has forfeited his honor and gets what he deserves.

Obama?! Yipee! We're all going home in a body bag! :-)

I guess I’d be a very concerned that any “unstable” neighbor had C4 or any HE in his possession....or was dealing this stuff into the hands of thugs for a profit. But we don’t know the full or true story, yet..

But the number of guns and amount of ammo strikes me as barely sufficient in this era of Congress Critters passing any law that contains the phrase “Gun Control” -— and talking about adding serial numbers or “markers” to EVERY ROUND of ammo sold! Imagine what that will do to cost.

Rational groups of friends who shoot a lot - took the warning seriously, years ago.. We bought the Tools, Presses, Dies, brass, shot, hulls, wads, bullets, powder, primers, etc, etc, etc....plus store bought .22 rimfire ammo to become independent of store bought ammo for our lifetimes.

Now - in a household that loves to punch holes in paper, bust clay birds and shoot steel silhouettes —— one can go through a LOT of ammo of various calibers.......which could become prohibitively expensive if the Congress Critters succeed in passing their wet dream legislations....

So - we have a LOT of ammo and the fixings for ammo, stored appropriately and under lock and key....
In addition - every time I get pissed off about something a politician says or does — I go into my shop and warm up the powder dispenser and start pulling the handle on that big green RCBS press.

In conclusion -— if the individual charged with explosive violations is indeed a SEAL — then the C4, guns and ammo are not the most dangerous items in that house....

The SEAL himself is the weapon to be concerned about if he’s of a mind to do mischief.... He may only need a rock, stick or his bare hands to start accumulating anything and everything he needs to do REAL mischief.....

Yep, radar detectors are still illegal in VA. Big signs announce this fact on all highways leading into the state.

I doubt he was selling the demo, or we would have heard some “booms.” He was probably saving it for a rainy day.....now he will have many years to contemplate his errors.

Very possible this SEAL was working for one of those not so much talked about gov branches and got squeezed by an upper (i.e. turned in to the locals). Not uncommon at all for interested government personnel to use maverick SOF's for 'unauthorized' 'fact finding missions'. 3D chess game.

I am curious as to how the 'authorities' discovered Tillman's house needed searching other than the perpetuated estranged DV charge? Would make sense that Tillman may have informed the significant other that he needed to make another 'business trip' and that person tipped the locals off in anger and the info wound up in the PIN. According to the article, Tillman, hasn't even been formerly charged with domestic assault.

Someone had it out for him. I guarantee you details about how the LEO's decided to go after him will not be released.

Spouse domestic dispute led to his demise. Yet he should have known better.

Never let the Mrs. know everything in your toy box, for pete's sake...! Sheesh!

At least that way if they ban(ned) it you can bury it...

You can take that to the bank, LOL!

My husband doesn’t even know where my ammo stash is. Heck, he can’t find his car keys on any given morning, so I really don’t even need to hide it. I could keep it in the middle of the living room and he’d trip over it for a week before he’d even notice it. ;)

Your husband must be related to mine. My husband’s favorite phrase must be “Honey, have you seen my __________?” ( use your imagination...it could be anything - blue socks, glasses, ass..)

Not necessarily. Other than the dope, there’s a lotta people on just this thread who would have a similar stockpile if that stuff were legal (like the Constitution sez it should be). Heck, some here have a comparable supply of now-legal stuff.

Rare is the occasion that a real deal SEAL allows his-self to be the victim of such a NOC NOC joke .....:o)

I think it’s just a simple family dispute and his squeeze ratted him out for revenge in the heat of the moment she will later regret IMO.

Stay safe !!

"Yeah, kinda hard to explain away claymores."

They'd be kind of nice to have around the yard when the islamists come looking for your guns though...
