RUDY'S GOT NO HEARTLAND; BOTTOM OF PACK IN HAWKEYE STATE (RINO flops in conservative country)
NY POST ^ | December 31, 2007 | CARL CAMPANILE and GEOFF EARLE

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Giuliani's support here has plummeted into single digits....according to new surveys released yesterday. A Reuters poll shows the ex-mayor capturing just 8% of the vote - tied for fourth place with Thompson and Ron Paul. An MSNBC poll shows Giuliani tied with Paul for fifth place with a measly 5% of the vote - near the bottom of the pack. "Where has he been? He stopped showing up," said conservative activist Jamie Johnson, who runs a radio station. Giuliani did not air a single TV ad in Iowa, and his 15 trips here were far fewer than front-runners Romney and Huckabee.

This still doesn’t explain Huckabee’s positive poll numbers right now. Huckabee’s positive poll numbers and Romney’s positive poll numbers are both also due to ignorance by too many voters on their full records as former governors while also getting a boost by the MSM. It should be both Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter who should be leading the pack, IMHO! It truly continues to be very frustrating that both Thompson and Hunter are completely ignored by too many voters throughout the U.S., and that the MSM continues to truly help to make this the case by also completely ignoring their Presidential candidacies!

Please remove your obvious bias from your post and do some real analysis (I’m sure you’re one of those who scream about MSM bias). The fact is that historically the winners of Iowa and/or New Hampshire don’t go on to do much - remember Tsongas, McCain, Anderson, etc. Rudy’s stratgey all along is to concentrate on Super Tuesday. Believe or not Iowa is not representative of the Republican party. The lesser candidates will get some wins, make some noice in the press. Now is not the time to be the front runner.

I am not a shill for Rudy, just a student of American election history.

Giuliani Pays Respects, Talks Business

Former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani arrived in Moscow this week to foster business ties between Russia and the United States and express his sympathy for a country reeling from a deadly series of terrorist attacks, a businessman traveling with him said Thursday.

"We came here for a few reasons," said Irvin Katsof, founder of Global Strategic Ventures, a U.S.-Russian investment group promoting business ties between the two countries. "To show our support at this difficult time for Russia, this being the week of 9/11. And we wanted to explore business relations -- one of the things that can break through all barriers."

"Bernard B. Kerik: Baghdad City Cop,” The Wall Street Journal, Sept 28, 2003----reports Kerik trained 40,000 of Saddam Hussein’s Bath Soldiers.

Kerik's shoddy performance training Iraqi police has been mentioned elsewhere. Kerik was supposed to be in Iraq to help train the police force. Kerik stayed for two months and one day Kerik just up and left. Kerik's irresponsiblity in Baghdad when he was supposed to train Iraqui police was one of the reasons the US had so much trouble with the initial police training program, because Kerik arrived, didn't do anything and then went out to the airport and left.

======================================================

Course others insist Kerik was a "Presidential Envoy" who single-handedly rebuilt Iraq's internal security infrastructure after the invasion" and, for his services, was given the highest award on the planet. Read on.

KERIK AND RUDY HONORED (emphasis added)

The Open University of Israel Honors Bernard Kerik
E.OpenU.com | July 28, 2004

Dear Friend of the Open University:

An all-star cast headlines a gala evening for the Open University.

I am delighted to announce that: Bernard Kerik – Dinner Honoree – who will receive the Shomer Award

and Rudolph Giuliani and Baron Robert de Rothschild – Honorary Chairs and Ingeborg Rennert – Chair, Dinner Committee, Steve Witkoff – Chair, Tribute Committee

will lead off this year’s American Friends of the Open University dinner, November 30th at Cipriani’s in New York City. Never has an institution been more aptly named – the Open University of Israel is the most open, diverse and accessible university in Israel. Enrollment this year is 38,700 students – having doubled since 1994! One in every five Israeli undergrads studies at the Open University.

I know you will want to join me in paying tribute to Mr. Kerik, one of the Open University’s staunchest supporters. Recently, Bernard Kerik served on the U.S. Presidential Envoy in Iraq. He spent six months in Baghdad, arriving there just days after the coalition invasion, in charge of rebuilding Iraq’s internal security infrastructure.

Our annual gala is the cornerstone of our annual fundraising campaign. We would be honored if you would become a member of the Tribute Committee, either by reserving a table, or by inscribing your name in our Journal at the Donor level.

As a member of the Tribute Committee, you will be listed along with Mayor Giuliani and Robert de Rothschild on our dinner invitation and on promotional materials for this event.

Our mission is to enable every Israeli to fulfill the dream of a college education – and to strengthen the Jewish nation. Please join us in this effort.

Sincerely,

Irwin Hochberg

Here's another take on Kerik---posted by calcowgirl

Feds: Bernard Kerik's a scammer who ripped off city
New York Daily News | November 10th 2007 | THOMAS ZAMBITO and GREG B. SMITH
FR Posted on 11/10/2007 by calcowgirl

EXCERPT Bernard Kerik lied, schemed and sold out the city - all under the nose of his mentor and pal, presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.

That is the stark portrait painted in the 16-count indictment unsealed Nov 9, 2007 in White Plains Federal Court almost exactly one year before Election Day 2008. While the political fallout remains uncertain, the effect on Kerik's image as a Sept. 11 hero is devastating. In meticulous detail, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia assembled count after count painting Kerik as a money-grubbing liar who tried to cover his tracks.

The indictment says the misdeeds took place as Giuliani promoted his former driver to the top levels of his administration, from running city prisons to heading the largest police force in America.

Kerik, 52, stood ramrod straight in a white shirt, red tie and navy blue jacket to declare "not guilty, your honor" in court, moments before being freed on a $500,000 bail bond backed up by his New Jersey mansion. Outside, he could not resist bringing up Sept. 11:"The worst challenges until this time were my challenges during and after 9/11. This is a battle I'm going to fight."

The indictment charges Kerik with conspiracy, tax fraud, making false statements to the White House, and depriving the city of his honest services.

The indictment starts in 1998, after Giuliani made Kerik (his former bodyguard and driver) Correction Commissioner, continues through 2000, when Giukliani named Kerik police Commissioner, and ends in 2006, after Giuliani's recommendation that Kerik run the Homeland Security Department imploded. >

Prosecutors painted these broad strokes:

Theft of services: Prosecutors say Kerik tried to convince city investigators that a New Jersey contractor secretly renovating his Bronx apartment had no mob ties.

Tax fraud: Throughout his rise in the Giuliani administration, Kerik repeatedly lied to the IRS. His lies included his failure to declare the apartment renovations and Witkoff's rent payments. Prosecutors say that also was true for the $75,000 Kerik received for writing a forward to an art book on Sept. 11 heroes; the $20,000 he got from a computer software firm, and the wages he paid to an off-the-books nanny. He also claimed a bogus $80,000 charitable donation, the indictment charges.

False statements: Prosecutors say Kerik continued the masquerade after leaving the Giuliani administration. He lied to the White House in 2002 through 2004 in applying for several federal positions, including director of Homeland Security. Now Kerik is looking for donations through his Web site to pay his legal bills.

CALCOWGIRL POSTED: Now Kerik is looking for donations through his Web site to pay his legal bills.....set up in Nova Scotia.

Kerik is looking for donations through his website in Nova Scotia? Nova Scotia? Must be trying to evade US banking laws. Rooty must have a company there that can launder offshore money from his global business connections....make it look like Kerik's getting actual donations.

FReeper CICERO posted: The Kerik indictment says the misdeeds took place as Giuliani promoted his former driver to the top levels of his administration Curious coincidence. Bill Clinton also promoted his former driver, an Arkansas state trooper, to high office--I think deputy director of FEMA. That was his reward for procuring women for him while Bill was governor. So, the reward for corrupt personal service was top positions in law enforcement and national security. Clinton understood that you will be faithfully served by someone whom you can blackmail if they cross you. But the country will not be well-served.

......when is Money Bags Rooty going to release the client list of Julie-Annie Partners and all his other money laundering front companies????? For all we know Osama bin Laden or a Mexican Drug Cartel could be clients........

Very good questions. Tim Russert, no less, attributed Rudy's decline to (1) his secrecy about his global business dealings, (2) Rudy's porking his mistress on the taxpayers' dime and hiding the theft of services in obscure city agencies, and of, course, (3) mobbed-up Kerik.

It is absolutely incredible that Rudy would make Kerik (someone that he knew very, very well) his top recommendation to Pres Bush for one of our nation's most important national security positions.

In fact, that's the only public personnel recommendation that he has made to the President--so I guess that's all that we have to base what we could expect from Rudy when it comes to personnal appointments.

If this is an example of the type of appointments that Rudy would make (in addition to his other liberal buddies that he would flood the government with)--that's just another of the many reasons to keep a LIBERAL like Giuliani as far away as possible from the White House.

Rudy had a quirk for for surrounding himself with kerik-types---there' Russell Harding who went to jail for looting the city treasury and for enjoying kiddie porn on city computers and taking trips with gay friends on the taxpayers' dime.

Russel a high school graduate appointed by Rudy to head a major city agency was the son of Liberal Party honcho Ray Harding--payback for giving Rudy the Liberal line on the ballot (Harding's other son also got a high-paid city job).

When Russel went to jail Rudy was not about to queer his liberal bona fides---"tolerant compassionate" Rudy simpy said "I feel bad for the family."
