As I understand it, it was NOT Fred’s campaign that had the signature problem. Fred’s campaign simply did not have enough signatures but they turned in what they had and as I understand, most of his signatures were good.

Again, working from aging memory here, but I :::think::: it was Rudy G’s campaign that turned in almost a thousand signatures and almost half of them were turned down. According to the Sussex GOP chair, there were duplicates and all manner of nonsense in Rudy’s sigs. Who knows, is the unspoken thought, that beyond duplicates how many other of those sigs were no good on the Rudy G front?

This, of course, angered the Fred people because, as they argued, all of their signatures were good. Anyone, so the anger was, can get a slew of FAKE signatures.

Heh. All in all.....this is how campaigns and elections are won and lost. The Fred failure is big news here in Delaware and the newspapers are all publishing how to do a write-in vote like they did when Christine O’Donnell, now a Fox news commentator if you know her, was running. Christine damn near carried Sussex county with a write-in vote.

Two things going on....somebody’s faking and forging signatures and if you thought only the Dems did this stuff, well I’m here to tell you that there’s something rotten in the Rudy G campaign but no one has any proof.

Second thing, Fred’s campaign staff evidently stretched itself too thin. Hey, they’re inexperienced and I’m supposing at the end they just pushed Delaware to the bottom.

Which is fine and maybe no one will notice.

I’m going to write him in but it’s a bit of a puzzle, yes it is.

I know I haven’t been around lately...but just gotta pipe in on Bhutto

the facts we know-

the choices are Mushis, AQ, or Bhutto....

AQ are- uhmmmm- enemy #1....Mushie likes to pretend he is fighting them- but ain’t...

Bhutto is- “corrupt”

really?

put all the facts out you want about her or her family. The facts remains- she was the only one willing to stand against the terrorists that are our enemy #1.

Not to mention that she dang well knew that going back to Pakistan- standing up like she did- she KNEW she would be killed.

She KNEW THIS!

but she stayed.

Name one— JUST ONE- of our Reps in DC that would be willing to KNOWINGLY give their life for our sovereignty...

None of them would be willing to give up their FRICKING seat in the DC elite for what is right for us- let alone their life.

SCREW all of you that want to claim that she was just a power hungry. corrupt woman.

SHE KNEW she was facing this. And she went...and STAYED!

every single one of the SOB’s we continue to elect into office would have been in fricking bunkers- waling for the very military that they undermine everyday.

Yet we continue to vote them in- and then pass judgement on Bhutto?

Maybe she was corrupt...at one time...but I use to poop my pants too...

Sometimes- devastating things happen— maybe even nothing devastating happens.. but we change...

mayeb- she didn’t change at all...

waht I do know— is this woman showed more balls than any of our damn fools in DC have ever shown-— and she did it to AQ~

our guys in DC sit around worrying about waterboarding them....she met them- head on.....and stood for what our forefathers stood for... and gave what they gave....

A Rudy/Bloomberg/Hillary scenario could be interesting, since it wouldn't be inconceivable to see some more significant candidates run. I could see Ron Paul running on both the Constitution and Libertarian tickets, an independent run for social conservatives by someone like Alan Keyes, someone like Al Gore running to the left of Hillary, or maybe even all three.

Of course, I doubt any of them could get on the ballot on all 50 states, but it could certainly cause some confusion.

The DBM seems to think that a Bloomberg run hurts the Republicans, but Bloomie is no more a Republican than Hillary Clinton. I can’t see a ticket of Bloomberg and Hagel taking away too many Republican votes.

The way I saw it, he meant that all immigrants are to leave and then apply and go “to the back of the line”. To me, it seemed like a diplomatic way of saying he’d kick them all out since the deported illegals would never realistically be able to come here legally.

I recognize that his record is lousy on the issue, but I figured that with the Gilchrist endorsement, the he decided to tow the line.

You’ve been suckered. His immigration plan is for everyone to leave...and then return within days on a path to citizenship. He explained this on “This Week” a while back. He doesn’t put it on his website.

If there is any way at all the rats can screw with Fred here in Fla. they will. This state is the most screwed up politically I have ever seen. It really should be north and South Fla. splitting the two states they are that different. I-4 could be the dividing line, everything south of I4 goes left and above goes right.

Hi EC,long time.

Nice to see you haven't lost any of your charm or fire in the belly.!! It's very possible that a measure of corruption automatically goes along with a sort of super patriot type of attitude. The two do not necessarily need to be mutually exclusive.

Bhutto may very well have had a desperate love for her country so strong that she gave her life. In past roles where she and or her family may have looted the country all that may have been perfectly acceptable in the area or even the norm for all we know.

After all we are not always as all knowing and all seeing as we think.

The entire situation may well be much more complex than we know.

We do know that she realized that sticking her head out of a limo like she did gave her a really high percentage of being killed. She did it anyway. Passion like this supersedes corruption IMHO.

Thanks, dear. Recuperation is progressing remarkably well.

I expect to be fit and able to cast my vote first day of early voting here in Florida.

Bhutto was warned prior to her previous assassination attempt back in October. Unfortunately, she disregarded advice to avoid the motorcade route through crowded streets. 126 people were killed due to her decision.

I’m a Fred supporter, but I appreciate hearing explanations, such as you have to offer, on his failings such as not getting on the DE ballot. No candidate or campaign is perfect.

True, and it turned out to be a bad decision. But you have to ask yourself, didn't she know the dangers of sticking her head out of the limo.

You almost have to give her some credit for being a patriot for her nation even if her entire family was corrupt which looks like that was the case. People constantly evolve,we will never know.

Ran across this and got a big chuckle.

Former President Bill Clinton, right, carries a young girl as he and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., visit with Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Houston, in this Monday, Sept. 5, 2005 file photo. Bill Clinton says Sen. Barack Obama is a highly ambitious, political prodigy who is asking voters to 'roll the dice' and elect him president. He should know, that's a fair description of Clinton when he sought the presidency in 1992. (AP Photo/Richard Carson, Pool)

Noting the AP's surprising cynicism ... maybe the tide IS changing.

Al Qaeda isn’t dead, they are just moving. They are like a parasite that needs a weak host. Afghanistan provided that until 9/11. A grave miscalculation took them into Iraq and now they are moving on to Pakistan. Pakistan doesn’t need people like Hillary giving the impression that the US will not remain supportive of them. To do so only invites this enemy in.

I agree with you and wonder what she hopes to get out of the destruction of the very country she hopes to rule in about a year.

If she (and a few other lobotomy survivors) succeeds in undermining Musharraf and ending up with an Islamist government armed with nukes, certainly those nukes will be turned against us. Sorry, Hill, but your Praetorian Guard can't protect you against nukes, Toots.

While it's true that Musharraf hasn't been as forceful in cleaning out the militants as we'd like, he is skating a very thin line just to stay alive. The same people who killed Bhutto have been trying to kill him and continue to try.

I understand what Hill gets short term: the further undermining of GWB (who isn't running) and thus the loyalty of the moonbat, Soroist base. But it's such a path of diminishing returns. You don't even have to be much of a long term thinker to see where this will take us ultimately and maybe even pretty soon.

Can she be that stupid? I know the "smartest woman in the world" can't out think most of us on this board and can't even be trusted to answer simple questions without a script, but you'd think simple survival instincts would still be functioning in her brain. Unless there's something we don't know about Hill.

Remember back to the '90s when a "friend" gave Chelsea a Koran and Chelsea also tried on a burkha just to experience a different culture. I wonder how much influence the "friend" had on the Botch.

Remember she was a Goldwater Girl until a supposedly Methodist minister turned her left. Maybe she's got a little button you can push for reprogramming.

*** London Telegraph' Person of the Year -> General David Petraeus!

******

The article which is generally one of praise, starts with a "critics say":
For a man whose critics say he is far too fond of the television cameras, General David Petraeus, commander of US forces in Iraq, has been rather out of the limelight this Christmas.

The sprightly, media-friendly 55-year-old is not perturbed, however, that his face is no longer number one item on the US networks. As he said last week, where Iraq is concerned, "No news is good news."

Q1: When did journalism decide that the rebuttal paragraph had to be the opening paragraph?
A: When Clinton left office
or
B: When Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives in 1994.

Q2: When did General Petraeus become the number one item o the US networks? How many Americans could even pick him out of a lineup?
