(Excerpt) Read more at dhgrassrevolt.wordpress.com ...
We’ll just have to agree to disagree but no malice intended to you or Hunter. I just think if he wanted the elevation to the highest job in the land he would have made plans [goals with timelines, etc] and done things to get noticed... People like DeLay was known around the country and within the GOP circle, Newt the same way. They made the effort, spend the time and labor to rise to the top in their persuits.
In any case we’ll begin to see the voter preferences in just a few days.... It will be over quickly this time with the front loading of the primaries as has occurred. Take care.
Thank you.
May the eagles long fly our beautiful and free American sky
I’m not sure what part of the Lonestar State you are from but we had a pair of eagles nest and fledge two eaglets this past year over in the Orange area. They orginally built their nest in the summer of 05 and Rita took it out in Sept. We hoped they would return and rebuild. They did and we got to watch them while they got the fledglings out.
That is so cool. I live in Houston but was born and raised in Fort Worth where my brother still lives and my husband is from Fresno, CA.
Just retired from Shell Oil Company, Legal US and raise dogs.
GOOD!! Now, in the next 5 Days, the “Godvoter.com” folks need to do a yeoman job to get the word to the misled Evangelicals who think Huck is a Conservative.
agreed....too bad he doesnt get party support.
i guess the party has its horse and to hell with the base.
sad really...makes me wanna go to the ole post office and register indy.
Some good sense! Duncan Hunter is worthy of the vote and the others are not.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! America runs on Duncan!
No, anyone endorsing FRED is a waste. His supporters have proven to be as much a waste as the candidate.
Yes, some people are actually growing a spine and realizing they want a solid candidate who we conservatives can trust and who is ready for the office of CIC.
LOL, how about competence of the candidate? You seem to equate ‘name recognition’ with ‘electability’. Polls change all the time. In a general election the GOP candidate would get their chance to shine or self-destruct taking the party with them. Hunter has shown in Q&A’s, interviews, speeches, what LITTLE time he is afforded in the debates and appearances that he IMPRESSES and people genuinely think the man is presidential and would like to vote for him, BUT the old ‘name recognition’ argument. The GOP candidate will have to keep the ‘red’ states. I can see Hunter doing that with his solid conservatism and manner with his and his son’s military service and, frankly, his status on trade will tear its share of voters in ‘blue’ states and be more likely to keep Ohio. Hunter is strong all around-personal and political and can keep the factions of the GOP together and draw independents(certainly not lose youth, women and independents like I believe Fred would-he does not come across well and no military experience to bring on respect with convincing people) with his persona and excellence. I see no other candidate with his strengths. The whole ‘name recognition’ thing is BS. Honestly, you want to say Fred can do that? No friggin’ way. He had every opportunity and has squandered it and is now in this predicament proving that people seriously have been underwhelmed by him. And this is the GOP primary with a man who has gotten the coverage! No way.
What a typical statement. You come up with personal failings of Hunter’s record or his ability in interviews, debates, speeches, SOME ACTUAL FAULT OF THE CANDIDATE OTHER THAN THE STUPID NAME RECOGNITION. It’s the same old, same old. Hunter is the strongest possible candidate with his personal and political traits. Enough said.
You two have said what is Fred’s problem. He looks like a corpse and does not exactly motivate and you can tell just in the dropping polls. He does not have the Senate record or personal story to really draw respect or give him SOMETHING. And he really does remind one of Dole without the Senate and military records. And that does not bode well. His health would be a major issue during a general election and I can tell you I think he would lose the women, youth vote and if he did manage to somehow pull off independents it would be by too small of margins. I don’t see him expanding on the ‘red’ states and I think he’s more than likely to cost us Ohio and possibly Virginia. We need a solid candidate and Fred bumbles along.
You summed it up perfectly. It is through no fault of Hunter the man and his record that he could ‘not win’. Rather it is pushed forth that he ‘cannot win’ because of his lack of ‘name recognition’. BS. I can honestly say I will be voting FOR Duncan Hunter. Can’t say that for the others.
It is more than the media. What the media says can stick when a candidate comes across as badly as Fred and looks as badly as him. Remember Nixon in the JFK debate? Fred isn’t the man.
Which proves that Hunter has the goods for a general election.
He is the most qualified with the least "name and FACE recognition" (present company excluded).
It's called campaigning HARD! Now's the time, Duncan. Go for it!
sw
But I'm not sure I agree that Hunter's failure to progress is all MSM. Look at what the Paulestinians have accomplished. It's true that Ron Paul is strong up here in NH (by strong, I mean he might get 10%), but his people are EVERYWHERE up here, as are his signs, his phone calls, his doorknockers, etc.
By contrast, I have not gotten one call, one visit, seen one sign, or received one piece of mail from the Hunter forces. Not one.
That's not the fault of the MSM. That's the fault of the Hunter campaign, if there is one.
See my post above.
I'm voting in nine days. If I was not an FR addict, I would have never heard of Duncan Hunter.
I've had at least fifteen contacts in the last ten days from the Tancredo people, even though he's dropped out.
Hunter has no campaign and no presence here, and I absolutely consider that to be an "actual fault of the candidate".
