Modern Conservative ^ | Christopher Cook

ModernConservative.com has received a tip from a reliable source that may have election-shattering implications.

According to our source, an activist here in Arizona has been approached by the Ron Paul campaign; the campaign has requested that he run the Arizona effort to get Ron Paul on the general election ballot as a candidate of the Constitution Party.

Our source has requested anonymity, and we have agreed. We can, however, vouch for his/her general reliability. Our source also provided us with details that added credibility to the account. (Unfortunately, disclosure of those details would put at risk our promise of anonymity. We apologize for the unnamed sourcing and lack of further details, but those were the requirements that accompanied this revelation.)

We will keep you apprised of any new developments.

There has been a lot of analysis on the impact that Ron Paul has already had, and on the impact that he might...

LOL! Once these Congress folk get in(no matter who)it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than to unseat them. By the By, Paul is good on somethings but the fact that he sits on the F.I.C. and doesn't know the number of troops in Iraq and says that "Iran has no military" scares me. Curious as to who you'll support in the general? I personally may have to hold my nose and vote for Mit as I think Thompson isn't going anywhere. I firmly believe that the worst Republican is infantesimally better than ANY Dim.

Though i’m pretty disgusted with Ron Paul, I could care less how much experience with guns a candidate has. Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney were having a squabble yesterday over how Romney’s barely hunted and Huck hunts all the time. I watched the report on Brit Hume, turned to my wife and said, “Who cares? I’ve never hunted in my life, and if a gun control bill crossed my desk I’d hit it with the veto stamp so many times they wouldn’t be able to read the bill when it got back to the Congress.”

That pretty much summarizes it.

Nice posts and I will certainly go through each of them and respond. And when I do respond it will be my own post that I have written myself, not something I cut and pasted from someone else like you’ve done with these.

I’ll take that under advisement.

Just more proof that paleoPaulie would not know the truth if it jumped up and bit him but it will take him out of the GOP and will hurt the treasonous Demonrats more than it hurts the Republican nominee. Remember that paleoPaulie promised his wife that he would not run third party BUT, as the Arkansas Antichrist amply demonstrated, paleoPaulie need not worry about violating pledges to his wife any more than he needs to worry about betraying the USA. Seven more days until the Iowa caucus where the serial destruction of Dr. Demento will begin in earnest. Tick, tick, tick...

So you opposed the invasion of Afghanistan?

No, Afghanistan was justified as that's where OBL was. We should have pursued him wherever we needed to in order to bring him to justice, but the WOT has failed to nail Most Wanted #1.

I could throw a million things at you about Saddam, but the bottom line is there was a connection and there didn't need to be anyway.

Wow, George Bush must just smile and laugh to himself when he sees how easy it is to dupe sheeple like you. Talk about the CYA statement of the day: "Of course there's lots of evidence against sadamm, although i can only cite right-wing-pro-war sources to prove it and qualify my statements by saying that even if I can't prove it we had ever right to enter Iraq and kill saddam, even though I don't give any reason why that is."

Should we invade Saudi Arabia? How about Egypt? Johnny Walker Lindh was from Marin County, Richard Reed was from Britain and one of Al Qaida's current video spokescritters is from Australia. Shall we invade those places?

You prove my own point for me (thanks!) - there was more reason to invade any and all of the above than there was Iraq. You truly are a patriot. Give yourself a pat on the back for each soldier that has died in Iraq for nothing.

BTW however, if he does run 3rd party and someone like Huck is the GOP nominee, don’t discount libertarian leaning voters in the GOP voting for him.

If it’s Secular Progressive Socialism (Hillary) vs Christian Socialism (Huck), Paul becomes the only game in town for a lot of people.

Where I'm from, evidence is evidence. You must have a very high opinion of yourself if you think evidence is inherently stronger because you typed it.

I think it could help the Dems if we do not choose a good and acceptable conservative as our nominee. We need to choose Fred Thompson.

There are states (I believe Illinois is one) which have “sore loser” statutes prohibiting the listing on the ballot of any candidate who has run in the primary of a major party and then wishes to run third party. In how many states will the “Constitution” Party forfeit ballot status if it goes with this latest dishonest delusion of paleoPaulie and the Paulistinians.

In many states, write-ins are NOT counted unless the candidate is registered as a write-in. If “sore loser” statutes are in force, they probably block the registration of losers like paleoPaulie. Anti-Semites in Illinois could dredge Paul Findlay out of retirement as a stand-in and name electors who can then vote for whom they please. David Duke would probably campaign as a stand-in for the paleosurrenderman’s trasparent substitute.

And I am sorry that my last post ended more harshly than I intended, i meant say in vane, not “for nothing”. I know our troops hearts are in the right place, we just disagree on where they should be at. I would have liked to seen our forces get OBL first, that’s all.

It’s not very complicated. Choose Fred or lose....by a lot.

Socons won’t vote for Rudy. Libertarians won’t vote for Huck. National security hawks won’t vote for Paul. Fred is the only candidate who can unite all of the factions. (<——notice the period)

I’m just glad everybody else in contention picked Denver. After Sunday there was a big crowd of us at 120, only I was lucky enough to move to 121. This weekend will be wild, just looking at the lines and how weird they are because of whose sitting and who isn’t I decided to ignore that and pretend it’s all starters all the time, I can’t think of any other way.

And now back to the original thread topic...

Yeah, if Hussein’s public behavior didn’t make him a valid target we should just shut the WOT down. The guy spent years with a microphone in his face declaring himself an enemy to America and encouraging attacks on us, I see nothing wrong with believing him and acting accordingly.

I think this was the plan all along. It will carve off some repubs and help elect a Communist.

I have no doubt there will be a McKinney/Paul or Paul/McKinney ticket. They will pull all the far left anti-American vote that would otherwise vote democrat. I love it.
