Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes.
To My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
One thing I will say about Paul...at least he had the GUTS to face Russert on national television. This spot was ORIGINALLY going to feature Huckabee, but he declined the invitation. He’s in church with John Hagee this morning...a much less hostile environment.
Exactly, you get it.
Could not agree more.
Mornin’ snugs. Traveling today to visit my brother & family at Fort Bliss. Will check back in later to see how Gen. Petraeus did.
Merry Christmas
Huckabee? Decline a Sunday talk show invitation? That’s a rarity.
I know he’s doing FTN this morning, maybe he got to do it via videotape.
Sidetrack to FNS roundtable re: Hillary ad: “it was the worst ad I’ve ever seen.” - Kristol (And of course he’s right.
Where's the question about white supremacist support--just as one example Russert would have used on any other Pubbie candidate. (like Romney and race last week)
well I listened to Ron Paul (squirrel Tx)
and my God...................a life support system for
a fool
Well I liked this column but I really wonder.
Rush says that all those alleged malaprops by Bubba are very intentional.
Whatever the case, I eagerly look forward to the implosion of Hill’s campaign.
On another train of thought, I am watch Krystol talking about Hillary’s Christmas commercial and thank God someone noticed it.
That commercial is the epitome, it is liberalism, nanny-statism and a Hillary agenda all put on film and shown, with no apologies, to us fools out here in la-la land.
She shows all those social programs as GIFTS! Gifts, I tell ya. Gifts from her highness, we should be grateful. Almost forgot universal kindergarten, goodness!
If the world doesn’t know what Hillary’s plan is, that commercial certainly shows her mindset and plan for the mighty United States of America.
A plan that included gifts from she who is so blessed and loves us like a village.
Bah, Humbug.
The MTP panel is now mulling over how successful they have been in the DBM driving down the positives of the Republicans in the race.
Of course we have to stay the course in Iraq.
If we do in about two years(a guesstimate) we will have routed the AQ's, wannabe terror types and other radicals to the point where the locals can take over.
Petraeus was just flabbergasted that Iraq has put forth 160,000 more troops, police etc. in the past year, he says they are a mixed batch some good some not so good but overall they are coming along and one day will be able to police their own.
But you are absolutely right. We should never listen to the dem/rats and try and snatch defeat out of the arms of victory.
Merry Christmas to you as well. :)
;)
My apologies...Huckabee is now scheduled to be on next week. That is going to be something to see...Russert has been his usual tough self on Guiliani, Romney, and Paul...and Huckabee can expect the same.
I recommend staying tuned for the Fox Power Player segment at the end. If you have not heard about Wreaths Across America, this will be the time.
However, when you look beyond Paul’s slogans and demagoguery you see there really is nothing to Paul. He makes promises and pledges he knows full well he will never be able to keep. Add that to a clever speaking style when emotive slogans like “Constitution” and “traditional foreign policy” are shouted over and over in order to conceal Paul’s fundamental lack of any real understand of our system of Govt or modern politics.
Paul appeals to the alienated and the self absorbed who think everything in life should be ordered to suit their own personal whimsy, he will not sell to the mass of the US voters who both understand, and accept, the burden of self Govt love of liberty imposes on people.
An excellent post, MNJ. Spot on, imho.
FNS roundtable talking about baseball?! To borrow from Yiddish, “oy vey...”
