Sorry Jason, you mis-understood what I said...
Despite the fact that they act to the contrary, I don't think Iran is stupid enough to go to war with the U.S. simply because we eliminated their chance to get nuclear weapons... I would expect brinkmanship and a LOT of international heat, but no war...
That means Iran will not start a war because we DESTROYED their weapons program, not because we NEGOTIATED them into surrender. They will do a lot of chest pounding and screaming and calling for action in the UN security council, but they would not start a war with the US...

Classic Clint Eastwood and very true in the case of Ms. Rice and her Middle East efforts.

Right on, bud. We’re still drawing the same conclusions. Too bad the ones making the decisions are off in left field. Or wherever.

Ah, now I understand you. But we aren't going to strike them first, making it rather academic. We are going to watch them get nukes. Also, I doubt your analysis - they'd fight, even if it meant losing, if directly attacked by the US. If instead directly attacked by Israel, they might refrain from actions e.g. in the gulf that would draw the US in - that is the closest I can see to your estimate. They are far more reckless than you think, in my opinion. Incidentally, I think they have also gauged US and Israeli political weakness correctly, and neither Israel nor the US is going to touch them. I don't like this - I think we should act. But we won't - the left has seen to that, politically.

But we won't - the left has seen to that, politically.I guess we just see things differently.... With all the things Bush has done wrong (or just not done) I think he won't care what the left says or does, he'll do what it takes to keep Iran from having that power...
Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas!!
