Paul Karason puts a whole new spin on "feeling blue. For more than a decade, the 57-year-old has been living with a blue face.
Fourteen years ago, Karason developed a bad case of dermatitis, which results in swollen, reddened and itchy skin. He started self-medicating, using a treatment called colloidal silver, which is made by extracting silver from metal............"

the colloidal silver people are a bunch of nuts, he is not the only person that has done this to himself
Why didn’t I think of that?
What is even stranger is he moved to California from Oregon so he would feel more “accepted” by others.
(making goofy Glenn Beck face)
That’s funny, he doesn’t look bluish..
Oh, that’s troublesome! Move to Kentucky, fit right in.
One day when working in the ED one of my partners came to me with a “great case”. A 17 year old came in with cyanotic (blue) hands. He wanted my opinion. The girl was healthy, not short of breath and had a completely normal exam except for these weird blue hands. He had asked her every question he could think of, including some very exotic poisoning scenarios and was stumped. I went in to take a look and sure enough she had these very cyanotic hands with very blue nail beds. At this point my partner was about to order a CT of her chest to rule out a pulmonary embolism, when I noticed the blue looked a little different from the usual. I grabbed an alcohol wipe and low and behold the blue, came off. Turns out she had a new pair of jeans and had had her hands in the pockets a lot. On closer inspection her butt and legs were also faintly blue....
took my partner a while to get over that one.
Dermatitis = Triamcinolone Acetonide <—Magic Stuff
Although I doubt it will help “Blue”. :-)
It’s his Constitutional right to be a fool.
So—how did she get the dye under her fingernails into her nail beds? Just asking......
I was researching this “product” just the other day, after having seen a recommendation somewhere, and I decided against trying it. But I came across the same site you listed in post 10. On that site is a link to the FDA which many might find useful. It contains a vast multitude of “scams”.- http://www.fda.gov/cder/warn/cyber/cyber2000.htm
enjoy!
Admit it - you’ve been saving that quote for just the right occasion, and finally it came up...
Poor thing is going to have a blue Christmas.

UH, Silver IS an elemental metal.
I saw this man on Fox earlier tonight. Trace Gallagher couldn’t believe the guy still drinks the crap.
It wasn’t under the nails. It was on them making the nail beds look blue. Thats what caught my attention...
Well, he would be great for the blue light special.
