Here's why I support Giuliani, and it has nothing to do with his response to September 11

Here's why I support Giuliani, and it has nothing to do with his response to September 11:

Rudy Giuliani eliminated street crime in New York City. The conventional wisdom said it couldn't be done, and the reasons are suspiciously similar to what the same bloviators say about the war against Islamofascism today:

1. There actually isn't a problem; if you think it's a problem, you're a racist.

2. Okay, there is a problem, but it's because of white racism; to try to eradicate the problem using barbaric force without solving the root causes is useless.

3. Okay, force can in some sense solve the problem, but unless you bend over backwards to accommodate the rights and liberties of your assailants, you're creating a climate of fear - essentially a dictatorship.

Giuliani may be a rank egotist. He may have treated his own family like a monster (instead of treating them with respect, like President – well, you know who). I don't particularly care. Where it counted, he showed the toughness and wisdom to ignore the conventional wisdom; to disregard the epithets hurled at such failed law-and-order mayors as Ed Koch and Frank Rizzo; and to do exactly what he said he would do. It is the most breathtaking political achievement of anyone in the race.

For the objections outlined above are essentially a form of western self-hatred, and they have come tumbling out to cede the fight to our enemies. Giuliani's triumph over such nonsense in New York is enough qualification for me.

You raise good points.

Unfortunately for Rudy Giuliani and his supporters, Giuliani is the solution to problems that most Americans don't have.

He was a perfect mayor for New York City because New York isn't really part of the United States after all . . . it's a "globalist capital" where a totalitarian approach to government is needed to maintain law and order. Kind of like Singapore or Tokyo, when you think about it.

Giuliani's pathological hostility to at least four of the ten amendments contained in the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution completely disqualifies him from ever serving in any leadership capacity in the U.S.

And for all this hype about his tough approach to maintaining law and order, it's worth pointing out that there was one specific instance before 9/11 when the Giuliani administration had to deal with a terrorist attack in New York City. That was the 1997 mass shooting on the observation deck of the Empire State Building by a Palestinian terrorist. Giuliani was so "tough on terrorism" that he refused to even acknowledge that it was an act of terrorism. Instead, HE SEIZED UPON THE OPPORTUNITY AS A PUBLIC-RELATIONS ELEMENT OF HIS ANTI-GUN CRUSADE.

Problem with Guli is that he and his firm do business w Dubail Ports, the UAE owned company (and a supporter of Islamic terror)

Doubt Guli will be tough on the Islamic Terrorists when his business concerns are w some of them.

I am two weeks away from voting and I still don’t know who it will be for. (Guliani? Romney? McCain? Thompson?)

But I do know who it WON’T be. (Ron Paul, Huckabee, and the rest...)

Informative reading at the following link if one is inclined to nod towards Giuliani.

No kidding. My tiny town of 150 people doesn't need him to end crime in our streets or corruption in our local government. He simply has nothing to offer to flyover country.

Seems the author *feels* safer yet, has no self-defense.

It’s a sorry lot, isn’t it?

I have a bit longer to decide, but at this point have not a clue who will get my vote.

Well, he’s just gone to the hospital with “flu-like” symptons that required his plane to turn around in mid-air. Reminds me of when he was going to lose to Shrillery in the senate race and he dropped out, blaming it on his cancer.

Giuliani may be a rank egotist. He may have treated his own family like a monster (instead of treating them with respect, like President – well, you know who). I don't particularly care.

I don't want a rank egoistic, monstrous politician in charge of the crucial decisions made by a President.

Giuliani simply is not qualified.

He is a radical liberal: pro-gay agenda, anti-gun, anti-life, pro-illegal, etc., etc.

AND he is, as this article ACKNOWLEDGES a MONSTROUS, RANK EGOIST.

If this is the GOOD STUFF they're writing about the guy, then why would we ever want Rudy. (BTW, I will NEVER vote for him in primary or general election.)

It’s a sorry lot, isn’t it?

It's frustrating. We want a positive Ronald Reagan to remind of the greatness of this country (peace through strength etc...)and they (the candidates) can't seem to muster the ability to state the obvious.

So I am left to decide which of the ones that I am looking at will fit the bill when it comes to the most important issues that I won't compromise on.

Which are as follows: National security (hunting and killing terrorists where we find them the military (stop the Libs from decimating them)
