Problem is that the leaders are open border guys, especially Huck. Maybe he sees the writing on the wall and wants to stop the Huck surge. Tanc is a patriot if nothing else and perhaps he thinks Fred has the best chance to win. He polls around 3 percent whereas Hunter polls around 1 percent. I think he’s backing Fred to stop Huck, McCain and Mitt, or at least do his part.

I don’t agree with anything you said in your post, but I love your tagline.

Fred has never been consistently tough on immigration. there’s the rub, and Tancredo knows it.

Well, as I noted, we’ll know tomorrow. Heck, he may not endorse anyone (if this is indeed about ending his candidacy).

It makes no sense to drop out as a 1-percenter and endorse another 1-percenter or even a half-percenter.

Tancredo is a good man and would have made a great President, but he couldnt get any traction. Now, endorse the best conservative with a chance. Endorse Thompson!!

PRS!

Are you pulling for Mitt now?

Pissant seems to think so!

He's dropping out to take the lead in a remake of "The Ropers."

I suspect Thompson. Then again the drones even here on FR will gloss over it saying he will drag down Fred as he is a nobody. Watch and see. Let me predict who the Freepers will be, JJCess, Crawford Creek, Pal o’Dem2. Mark my words.

To endorse someone who hasn’t shown any better polling than he has would be a waste. I just don’t see Tancredo throwing all he’s fought for into the wind.

You’d think if he is going to endorse and make the annoucement in Iowa rather than his home state then it would have to be one of the top contenders in Iowa and not someone with no chance of winning.... In that senario it would have to be Huckabee, Romney or Thompson and Thompson has a very slim chance of being the outright winner. Makes one wonder what Tancredo’s intentions are.....

Tancredo’s close friend, Rep. Steve King, passed over his colleague and threw his support behind Fred Thompson this week. King and Tancredo have worked closely on immigration and many in Iowa thought King would not endorse as long as Tancredo was in the race.

My guess is that he has accomplished what he intended, to bring attention the illegal immigration issue.

And now he wants to get out the way and throw his support to a candidate that has a shot at it.

It’s getting interesting..

Oh, come on. He's been fine on the issue. No complaints on my part and you know I'm tough on that issue.

And this isn't a class exam where we're counting the points. IF Tancredo bows out, and IF he endorses someone, it will be as much a decision about who he believes has the right agenda and thinks like him, as it will be about one who's perfect (but maybe not viable).

If he doesn't drop out and endorse Hunter, I'll lose a lot of respect for him. Hunter is the closest to him ideologically, but without Tanc's personal baggage.

Really, he should never have gotten into the race to begin with.

We shall see. Whoever gets it will welcome it. But then again, he may suprise us and stay in the race.

There's always gonna be nay sayers. Who cares? Tancredo will do what he's gonna do and we'll go on from there.
