Dowd Reinforces Rush on Hillary Looks
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Talk about the dog that didn't bark . . .

As soon as I realized that Maureen Dowd's column of today, "Rush to Judgment" was indeed about Rush Limbaugh's recent observations about Hillary's looks, I braced myself for the backlash.

Surely Dowd would seek to unload on Rush for having said, in commenting on an unflattering photo of Hillary [displayed here] that turned up on Drudge, "will this country want to actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?” Added Rush “men aging makes them look more authoritative, accomplished, distinguished. Sadly, it’s not that way for women, and they will tell you.” And Hillary “is not going to want to look like she’s getting older, because it will impact poll numbers, it will impact perceptions [so] there will have to be steps taken to avoid the appearance of aging.” Story Continues Below Ad ↓

And so I continued to read, and wait, and wait -- for the comeback that never came. To the contrary, Dowd seconded Rush's read, added some analysis of her own of Hillary's looks . . . and ended with a hit on Hillary rougher than anything Rush had said.

Most men ( at least sensible men ) in this country are not going to vote for her, so why then is she so concerned about her looks or looking aged

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Most men will disregard looks whether voting for a man or a woman! Even though they may joke about voting for some airhead beauty for President, only a rare few would actually do so. Hillary needs to look youthful to get the woman’s vote, not the man’s vote. Women are actually more critical of appearance than men, they just won’t admit it. Not all, but a large percentage of women vote for a particular candidate for reasons they are unable to even articulate. It boils down to emotional response and appearance is a large part. Bill Clinton could not have been elected even once had he not appealed to women on a basis having zero to do with his actual qualifications to be President.

Saw the photo of her 88 year old mom with her last week. You can see what the Beast is going to end up looking like when that time comes for her. Bad on the eyes. This photo makes her look 75 or older. Hell, my 87 year old mom had less wrinkles than this. Ugggggg. But, you have to ADMIT, Hillary looks bad here. But, then again, she never LOOKED good, did she? So, really this is just mud ugly, going to running mud ugly.

Maureen Dowd and Rush Limbaugh agreeing on something... The world must be at its end!

A few Christmases back, Rush said on air, that Dowd was 'lonely and miserable', and that he would like to send her a gift, but couldn't decide on what it would be.

Maybe this year, he did send her one or should.

If this is not Dowd, then the only purpose of it is to divert discussion from Hillary.

Explanation of the Dowd/Douglas connection: by Miss Marple- 2/11/03

Ms. Dowd was escorted around New York and DC for many months by one Michael Douglas of Hollywood fame and fortune. She got to go to all the best parties, was photographed for the tabloids, and was picking out a gown to wear at the Oscars. Of course, Michael had become interested in her during Clinton's impeachment, when she had written some very anti-Clinton columns. After a few weeks of the Michael treatment, she began to write anti-Starr, anti-Newt columns, ignoring Clinton.

Then Clinton was acquitted by the Senate. In an amazing coincidence, Michael Douglas dropped Ms. Dowd like a hot potato, and instead picked up a hot tomato, Catherine Zeta-Jones, who subsequently bore him a son and they were married.

Ms. Dowd cannot get over her tragic loss. Her columns are increasingly anti-Bush, in the hope of impressing her lost love, Michael.

The Catherine Zeta-Jones pictures are a way of rubbing (very lovely) salt into the wounds of Maureen Dowd. They are the primary reason I read MoDo threads.

I heard Rush on this, but I hadn't seen the picture before! LOL -- though, actually, she looks more appealing (if in a pathetic kind of way) in that than with that hideous, manic, leering grin (grimace?) that keeps showing up in her campaign ads

IIRC, didn’t Rush and MoDo date at least once or twice?

These pix of MoDo are very telling. I’ve seen so many women, whose faces betray their loneliness and unhappiness as they age. They so rarely smile that their mouths become permanently etched in a downturn, making them look grouchy and offputting.

Can God be warning us ? even through the secular world ? can God warn us through the MSM ?

I saw the same show on Krakatoa last night, and it reinforced my opinion that man has far less influence on the earth's "health" than algore claims.

What does worry me is the prospect of Ahmadinejad sporting a blue turban in the near future. It would be a clear signal that Iran has the bomb, and Mad Dog is just crazy enough to use it.
