Things may have changed, but I know in the past, active duty officers (and I believe enlisted) were generally prohibited from having political stickers on their cars on a military installation.

A little perspective, perhaps, but it doesn’t change much. See my #197.

Trying to push free intuition for illegals...
He's good on RKBA though. Which puts him a cut above Rudy McRomney, but still very far behind Hunter and even Thompson.

That's nothing. I remember when Perot claimed that a special hit squad of North Vietnamese attacked him at his home.
Sounds really big, but he never even called the police about it.

I am not 100% sure but I believe they are allowed as long as they are not campaigning on duty or in uniform.
I am just giving the paulbots a dose of reality.

The whole transcript was posted a few posts down, this was (and is) an accurate representation of the article posted. It is a general rule to copy the exact article title when posting.. The whole transcript is even worse though, I’m glad it was posted.

“That gives Paul’s statement a little more perspective”
The rabid Paul haters are just as loony as the most rabid of Paul supporters.
They aren’t interested in perspective - they want a gotcha moment and will take quotes out of context to get them.
Quote their favored candidate accurately, though, and you’ll get called various and sundry names.

Well, Thomas Jefferson edited his own version of the Bible because he didn’t care for the known version and wrote, “In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.”

He said the reason he is surging is because God is answering the prayers of his supporters. That’s saying that he’s God’s candidate of choice, unless God is a practical joker.

First of all a good majority of posters here are not Hucklabee supporters. I wouldn't say he's a bad guy but I am not voting for him in the Primary. RP is standing on thin ice when he insults American Christians in general by equating a like-minded individual as fascist. It doesn't help.
Ron Paul is commenting on the style of Huckabee's campaign.
Huckabee is resorting to outright pandering to the evangelicals on the Right. You don't see any of the other candidates going this far. And all so he can win Iowa?
Look at the other states. Huck can't sell his religious bilge in the large states.
Frankly, I personally doubt his Baptist bona fides, the same way I do with Clinton/Gore/Carter who made such a production of being Baptist. Baptists normally don't use their religion as a political crutch. It's outside the Baptist tradition and even other Baptists don't like it. Respecting the religious liberties of Americans as recognized under the law and the Constitution is one thing. Pandering to the Aunt Harriet crowd with cheesy cross symbolism and lying about a theology degree he doesn't have makes Tax Hike Mike a giant phony.
Huckabee harms the entire party's prospects in 2008, far more than Ron Paul ever could.
I see Giuliani and Huckabee as both completely unacceptable. I could vote for Fred or Mitt or McCain if I had too. Duncan too for that matter but he's going nowhere (sorry, Hunter backers, it's just the truth).
I think if the early states fall for Huckabee, it will be handing the nomination ultimately to Giuliani because Huckabee will have no appeal in the big states.

I’m supporting Alan Keyes.
Unlike Ron Paul, he actually understands our foundational principles, and knows how to apply them properly.
And, interestingly, after only one opportunity to actually be seen by the public, Dr. Keyes has already pulled even with the loaded-with-cash Dr. Paul in the latest polling.

Ron Paul is missing the point. Facism has arrived and it has wrapped itself in the Green Movement. All those who stand in the way of this juggernaut will be run over...

The truth to the comment is that essentially every successful politician in America professes patriotism and piety. Both of those are good things, but they can be expected to accompany fascism.

You are 100% correct. This is an excellent observation.
We have a disappointingly thin bench. The RNC has been run by cretins for the last number of years.

Devotion to God or country is fine. Devotion to God or country that will not suffer question or scrutiny is where there's potential for abuse. That said is there anything stupider politically that you can imagine than attacking patriotism when our troops are in the field and in the same sentence attacking Christianity at Christmas?

Yes.
Bearing false witness.
Read post #7.
I’m a Hunter supporter too - he doesn’t lie. Neither should his supporters.
To: GovernmentIsTheProblem
I'm not a big fan of many of Huckabee's actions, but there's nothing in your list that would make we think he's a fascist.
Positions I disagree with, absolutely, and more importantly misjudgements. I think his pardons are a more serious issue, and probably the only one connected to his faith.
But a fascist, no, I don't see it, though I admit I don't think GWB is a fascist either.
BTW, the ad means he thinks he'll be king? That's every bit as nutty an idea as Paul's.
Mike Huckabee running for King? I don't think so, any more than this paints him as a Christian fascist.
At least he's a patriotic Christian fascist.
