YouTube video via Drudge- Ron Paul quote this morning on Fox and Friends- "When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross. "
I don’t know, but I would think that that comment alone should be enough (if there wasn’t enough already) to ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE that RuPaul will NEVER, EVER, BE PRESIDENT.
To my Christian friends: I sympathize that you have to hear this kind of characterization of people who simply take their faith seriously.
Italy would be an example.
How can you interpret my position so broadly?
Ron Paul echoes enemy propaganda, Cindy Sheehan style.
He is the only "GOP" candidate that I would say is not only an enemy to the common beliefs of Freerepublic, but to America.
You’re in the wrong tent you clown.
This won’t be popular, I could care less about the President’s religion. It is all a smoke screen by the candidates to buy votes from evangelicals. As long as the President does his/her job I could care less. All this holier than thou crap turns me off.
Please remove me from the Ron Paul ping list.
He is seriously disturbed.
Thanks!

Assuming he did run a third-party candidacy, it's hard to say which party he would hurt more--it would depend in part on who the major party nominees were. I can see some Republicans buying his claim to be a return to the old values of the Goldwater era, some Democrats voting for his foreign policy ideas, and some young people supporting him for his "authenticity"--it's hard to say which major nominee he would hurt more.
I'm not opposed to third-party candidates in principle--people ought to be able to vote for whomever they choose--but I would prefer any significant third-party candidates in 2008 to be on the left.
I’ve read almost everything of Ayn Rand. She was a very good philosopher. Not the best by a long shot, but very, very good.
That said, I would not have trusted her (or most of her followers) to work in the White House, given their bizzare temperaments.
I’ll bet he doesn’t backtrack. I’ve a suspician he doesn’t like Huckabee.
Izzy Dunne takes an early lead for One-Liner of the Week.
See some of Paul’s CO sponsored legislation here:

Take note of the ultra liberal socialists in congress he signed on with.
I’m not a Paul fan, I’m a “Hunter Ranger.” But there are a lot of people on this thread getting the very wrong idea about the quote based on the partial quote in the topic.
#1 has the complete quote - can you put it into the main message?
The poster was disingenuous for making the partial quote *especially since the next words are
“I dont know whether thats a fair assessment or not, but you wonder about using a cross like he is the only Christian, or implying that subtly.”
The quote is actually a Sinclair Lewis quote he is discussing - and his criticism of Huckabee is valid, IMO.
book mark
Fascism is already here.
And its carrying “libertine” “I can do any horrid thing I want”, “money-for-nothing”, “woe-is-me”, “the white man and the rich man are taking all I’m owed” attitudes. Translated into ANTI-flag and ANTI-cross carrying.
