We’re talking about Bob Kerrey, not John Kerry. Kerrey lost a leg in Vietnam and is the recipient of the Medal of Honor.

This is not so much a did at Bob Kerrey but laughing at the clintonistas. When you are laughed at by someone like Mathews, who is a clintonista, your hurting.

Sen. Bob Kerrey allegedly heckled during recent Gore campaign event

“Bob Kerrey attended a function on my behalf,” Bradley explained. “Gore people demeaned him, they called him crippled, they threw mud and I think that the vice president ought to take responsibility for those actions and he ought to apologize,” Bradley told reporters.

I stand corrected.....

This is the Kerrey who commanded the mission that was “compelled” to kill a couple of dozen “unarmed civilians” in a “Free Fire Zone”.

The only dispute about the circumstances, if I recall correctly - was whether or not they were collected and summarily executed, as stated by one of the SEALS on the mission -— or fired upon from a distance - not knowing they were unarmed civilians, mostly women and children.

I’m personally aware of a number of occasions where the killing of “unarmed civilians” was close to impossible to avoid without putting one’s life or mission at risk — this scenario could have been such a case...

What gives me the most difficulty is Kerrey’s own statements of deep remorse and guilt — and his refusal to dispute the damning recollection of one of his subordinate SEAL Team members who described a “war crimes” execution scenario which leads me to believe this was neither a clean or unavoidable killing scenario....

On that basis alone — I’m troubled by Kerrey’s actions..and his statements about the circumstances...
I wasn’t there, therefore can’t come to any factual determination...
My conscience is clear, and untroubled.
Apparently Kerrey’s isn’t...
