It’s a stretch when your granddaughter’s first words are “Knobbies”.

We got two separate snows on Thanksgiving weekend, and they were melted in only a couple of day. It was pretty, but a nuisance. Like always in Texas, the temps have been up and down.

Guess it’s bedtime for me....nite, Big Guy. God bless!

The presidential debates are bad comedy. Ugh.

We (the US AH-64’s) were held in reserve so that ISAF/NATO could plan and conduct this mission. We also have ground troops there that were supposed to assist. ISAF/NATO lasted almost 1 day into the battle before they screwed it up so bad that US forces took over. We (US) have been fighting heavily for 5 days, yesterday most of the enemy left town running into the desert through holes in the lines (ISAF screw-up again). We’ve had multiple 64’s shot up with one pilot shot but will be OK. I’ve got the afternoon/night shift and am scheduled for more overhead CAS today. Thankfully this crap is almost over.

Aloha po. West Texas Rose.

I thought the debates grand comedy. There was nothing presidential about them.

This Day in U.S. Military History December 17

1861 - Flag Officer Foote, Commanding U.S. Naval Forces, Western Waters, issued General Order regarding observance of Sunday on board ships of his flotilla:

"It is the wish. . . that on Sunday the public worship of Almighty God may be observed . . . and that the respective commanders will either themselves, or cause other persons to pronounce prayers publicly on Sunday. . ." Foote added: "Discipline to be permanent must be based on moral grounds, and officers must in themselves, show a good example in morals, order, and patriotism to secure these qualities in the men." Since 1775 Navy Regulations have required that religious services be held on board ships of the Navy in peace and war.

FOOTE, Andrew Hull, Rear-Admiral [1806-1863] was born in New Haven, Conn., Sept. 12, 1806; second son of Samuel Augustus Foote and [Eudocia] Hull. His father was governor of Connecticut and his mother a daughter of Gen. Andrew Hull.
