Today's Left has adopted a trendy ant-natalist position: children are bad for the planet's future. The Global Warming Cult's logical position is that a planet without humanity is better than a planet filled the sound of laughing children. Enviro Wackoism, taken to its logical conclusion, is about the destruction of civilization. The GW Cult is dangerous for people, for children and for the planet.

The best way to bequeath a more sustainable environment to our children is not to have any.

So in post-Catholic Italy there is no miracle of a child this Christmas – unless you count the 70 percent of Italians between the ages of 20 and 30 who still live at home, the world's oldest teenagers still trudging up the stairs to the room they slept in as a child even as they approach their fourth decade. That's worth bearing in mind if you're an American gal heading to Rome on vacation: When that cool 29-year-old with the Mediterranean charm in the singles bar asks you back to his pad for a nightcap, it'll be his mom and dad's place.

Eternal teenagers - creepy. Really creepy.

Great, the left can continue with this, their dieology in this regard, and folks like me will continue with ours. I have five kids. Two are married and have already produced 6 grandkids. I expect to have a good 20 or so grandkids before it is done.

At those rates, with the left having very few or none, and folks like me producing hundreds of great and great-great grankids...and teaching them conservative principles and to raise thier own properly as God-fearing all-American individuals...in another 2-3 generations...there will be no-left of any consequence.

Of course, they will not leave it at that...they will try to force me to adopt their principles and that will be the rub. They will seek, while they can, to gain the reigns of power and then use it like the tyrants they are to enforce their anti-American, anti-liberty views on the rest of us. Therefore the need to continue to not only beat them in the family-raising areana...but to continue to beat them in the areana of ideas.

Thanks for the Steyn. It's been a while since I've read or heard Mr. Steyn.

The anti children idiots forget that even if all those “pro environmentalists” self abort, that still leaves more room, resources for those who refuse to follow the delusional lemmings over thew population cliff.

Unless the antis demand the pro baby faction to “abort” their babies too.

The author "argues for the 'anti-natal' view – that it is always wrong to have children … . Anti-natalism also implies that it would be better if humanity became extinct."

I have said it before....

Those who would have this “children are bad for the planet” view of life...these are the ones who are bad for the planet.

They serve no function, excepting their own selfish hedonistic fulfillment.

Talk about selfish!

It is the function of organic life forms to procreate. (Or, as the Bible encourages us “Be fruitful and multiply”)

Fulfilling this basic, primal reason for being ((Which has also received the Seal of Approval from God, Himself), is the only reason for drawing breath.

These chowderheads are wastes of DNA and they are not only sucking up perfectly good oxygen, they are “polluting the planet” with their self described selfish, pointless carbon emissions.....

I issue a call for volunteers. All those who believe that there are too many human beings on the planet are encouraged to leave immediately, by whatever means suits your fancy.

For the people who don’t click on the full article:

The American Thinker’s Web site ran the numbers. In the seven years between the signing of Kyoto in 1997 and 2004, here’s what happened:

•Emissions worldwide increased 18.0 percent;

•Emissions from countries that signed the treaty increased 21.1 percent;

•Emissions from nonsigners increased 10.0 percent; and

•Emissions from the United States increased 6.6 percent.

I always find myself saying "Best Steyn ever" but this really is the best Steyn ever.

It's hard not to conclude a form of mental illness has gripped the world's elites. If you're one of that dwindling band of Westerners who'll be celebrating the birth of a child, "homeless" or otherwise, next week, make the most of it. A year or two on, and the eco-professors will propose banning Nativity scenes because they set a bad example.

Yesterday's left promoted the same belief.

Actually, it's not about the destruction of civilization, it's about the extinction of humanity.

Not according to the Bible!

Genesis 1:26-28

26
4 Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground."
27
God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.
28
God blessed them, saying: "Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth."

Fine. Let enviro-nut liberals not have children while conservatives have all the children they can handle.

That form of evolution I can agree with.

Perhaps the folks who feel this way can ensure that they have a ‘negative carbon footprint’: make high tech funeral arrangments so their body will ‘sequester’ the carbon presently contained, and commit suicide.

Of course, I would rather see them repent of their folly, and embrace all of the Divine commandments from “be fruitful and multiply” to “be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect”, but in some cases I suspect the heart is too hardened for that.
