LOS ANGELES, CA, December 14, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Barbara Walters likes to receive Christmas greetings from high-profile celebrities and leaders, but apparently not if they refer to the Bible.
On Thursday's episode of ABC's The View, Walters expressed dismay that President and Mrs. Bush would send out greetings containing Scripture.
During the segment, Walters showed the other gals some of the "highfalutin Christmas cards," and explained the White House card:

I suggest everyone send Barbara an E-Christmas card.
Just sent a very nice email, unfortunately her mailbox is not responding.
Here ya go...I'll say if for you:
F%$K YOU BARBARA!!!
This is actually an attack on Huckabee, even this nitwit dried-out prune knows Pres. Bush is not running for re-election.
As Huckabee rises in the polls look for even more MSM attacks against Chistianity.
No, Huckabee is not my first choice, but I would vote for him in the general election.
Barbara W. complaining about George W.? That pagan wench is so much in love with her ego..... how would she interview God? Probably even He could not escape criticism from this fading celebrity!
Shame on the White House for trying to put religion into the holiday season!
I am a Christian who doesn't observe Christmas because it's not a biblical holy day.
If I were offered a Christmas gift I too would decline it respectfully and gracefully. I might say "I appreciate your thoughtfulness and intentions, but I have to decline it because it goes against my beliefs."
If pressed, I might say that it should go to someone who really needs it and can't afford it.
The front of the card is a color print of a painting of the East Colonnade at the White House. The view is from a snowy outside, beside a water pool, looking through a large window into the White House at a lighted and decorated Christmas tree.
Inside the card, it says, (under a gold presidential seal)
"You alone are the LORD, You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them, You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. NEHEMIAH 9:6 (NIV)
Below that, in a cursive typeface, it reads: "May the joy of all creation fill your heart this blessed season. 2007" It is signed "George Bush ....Laura Bush."
Oh well....I tried to submit an email to wish her a Merry CHRISTmas but the server timed out. Think she pulled the plug?
Is that lisping idiot still around? Heaven forbid that a card about a religious holiday should have a religious message.
why are they sending this slag a card anyway
Just sent her an e-mail wishing her a merry CHRISTx
yeah..but being Jewish, she probably doesn’t give a rip. IMHO she could have been a little more gracious about the card.
I just got my WH Christmas card yesterday and loved it...this is the 5th one I’ve got,....have had them all framed and hung in my foyer....and all of them have a quote from the Bible...Merry Christmas
So it's okay for someone to compromise their beliefs because of what you think?
I’m going to send her a religious Christmas card.
grrrrr
What an idiot...
