From virtually the beginning of her campaign, New York Senator Hillary Clinton has made every effort to maximize her advantages among women voters. It seems a natural constituency for the first woman to climb to the top of a presidential field. Polls throughout the campaign have showed Clinton earning the support of far more women than men, giving Democrats hope that, in a general election, she would enlarge the party's traditional gender gap and cruise to the White House with stronger backing from women than any other candidate in history.
But now, as polls show her once-strong lead in Iowa slipping, the once-inevitable Democratic nominee looks human again, vulnerable to defeat from Illinois Senator Barack Obama. If Obama pulls off the once unthinkable scenario of beating Clinton, a post-mortem analysis will show it is women, once seen as Clinton's key to a guaranteed victory, who caused her defeat.

Women play an inordinately strong role in the Democratic primary field. Statistics provided by the Iowa Democratic Party show women made up 54% of caucus-goers in 2004, while some pollsters think the number could be closer to 60% this year.

Hillary will lose because Mitt Romney will wrap her up and send her home!
Women can be vicious to one another. My teenage daughters see it all the time. They rank right below Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot and “Vlad the Impaler” on the cruelty scale.

Please take a few moments to view this great transition of an Iowa voter.

Mental illness is statistically more predominant with woman than men.
You must be proud pushing one useless liberal over another
That Iowa voter is why the Iowa Caucasus are truly worthless as far as I'm concerned. She believes she is thinking person, but doesn't have a working single brain cell.
And how is this different from the average Democrat voter? You've just destroyed your own argument and shown why the Iowa Caucasus are, indeed, important.
I heard that some Oprah fans are not happy with her backing Hussein.
interesting....many women don’t like her...and some women don’t like women for POTUS period....
just listening
I prefer an honest woman whose achievements are her own.
And, quite frankly, I know there are many, many women who are honest as well as competent and high achievers.
So, put one up, and she's got my vote.
I've been an Independent since 1990 so show me the ideal woman and she may get my vote.
I hope your conclusion is correct, that she will not win.
There are a lot of valid points being made on this thread. Reading everyone’s opinions make me more hopeful every day that Clinton will be beat.
‘He can sit beside her as her right hand man.’
I see it all in glorious black and white!
IMHO, it comes down to likeablitiy. Hillary has never in her pitiful life been likeable. I stay in a hotel with Secret Service when Bush was campaigning in New Mexico. There were 40 some SS there and I talked to many of them in the lobby area, I asked them about the Clintons. They were very careful how they answered, but it was clear... they did not respect Hillary or Kerry in any fashion.
I had thought Hillary would win, but I am seeing that she just is not a nice person and it comes out. People want change, they don’t want more of the same. Dims will go for the first black with Obamma... GOP will have either Romney or Rudy to vote for. IMHO, the black vote will win.
Correct. Many women despise her because she allowed her husband to humiliate her publicly still stayed with him. They do see through this sham marriage, which is really just a business deal.
For every woman who sorta likes Hillary, I know one that LOATHES the woman. This whole thing that she was gonna simply walk away with the womans vote was a fantasy. As I see it, the more politically astute, and therefore more likely to vote, the less they liked Hillary. And its not just conservatives and Republicans, the left wing blogosphere is full of Hillary hatred.
