Legos they're not just for good kids anymore.
A book written by two former employees of the Danish plastic-brick giant is burning up the Amazon.com sales charts and raising eyebrows on the other side of the Atlantic.
"Forbidden LEGO: Build the Models Your Parents Warned You Against" was published in August by No Starch Press, a small independent publishing house based in San Francisco.
Its authors, Ulrik Pilegaard and Mike Dooley, both worked at the Lego Mindstorms robotics division before leaving to join an independent robotics firm.
"You'll learn to create working models that LEGO would never endorse," the book's page on the publisher's Web site promises. "Try your hand at a toy gun that shoots LEGO plates, a candy catapult, a high voltage LEGO vehicle, a continuous-fire ping-pong ball launcher, and other useless but incredibly fun inventions."

Book ain’t really *that* new. I’d had mine since summer sometime.
You better buy your copy now. Before the libs find out Legos can be used to launch a projectile. Guns dont kill people Legos do!
What ? I built a Lego hand phaser when I was 12. ;-)
Egad - a Lego plastic-spoon onager. The Union is in peril!
Lots of specialty parts in those. When I was a kid you just had the blocks and the windows. We fought over the wheel pieces.
One great thing about Legos is they’re NOT made in China!
I like it!
My erector set had plans for making a ‘shocking device’.
It used the elecric motor’s windings as the coil, a battery, a gear, and one of the holed metal straps for the ‘points’.
After a while, I took the motor coil out and put a TV Degausser in it’s place.
I made a strobe light out of the erector set, as well.
If I had just had a big enough erector set, I coulda built....
Leggo my Lego's
The English translation of his name is "Preparation H."
Uh, yeah. I'm guessing he doesn't get out very much.
WOW!!!
Too much time on his hands, whoever he is.
I’ll bet Joseph would LOVE this book!
They have already banned them in some schools. The reason was that some kids always end up with more pieces than other kids and that makes the others feel left out.
I’m sure I read that here on FR awhile back. Or maybe I heard it on rush.
I had an erector set, too. I haven’t seen them for years. I figure the name did them in.
