It’s not an invasion of privacy, you’re walking around in public, nothing wrong with making sounds that can be heard by people in public. Making it sound like it comes from inside your head is creepy and annoying, but not invasion of privacy.
Your point makes sense.
But I find the idea intrusive.
I think it unsettling that a person be subject to something that he/she may or may not be able to figure out where it comes from.
There are a lot of sounds that are innately like that, not that they sound like they’re inside your head they just don’t triangulate well with the human ear. Most electronic phone rings, and almost every squeaky cardio machine at the gym I go to (once a week or so I play “is that my machine?” varying my rhythm to see if it synchs). I’d certainly be annoyed with any company that beamed their advertising at me like this and would probably make a point of not patronizing them, it’s just not an invasion.

If you can combine some sort of laser distance reading system, a "voice of God" translator, and this Holosonic deal, then you could have some fun messing with bad drivers!
That would make for some interesting cell phone conversations as people get interrupted by “the voice”. lol
Yes, it is an invasion of privacy. The signals being sent out are not audible in themselves, but appear audibly perceived in the cranium.

So this must be a bit different than those “whisper cones” that they have set up in the local children’s museum (which is also pretty cool!!). If it is actualy “in the cranium” could this have a good application for deaf people?

Today, believers through faith in Christ, are indwelt by all three persons of the Godhead. Simply by the language used in Scripture, this makes man in the Church Age, a temple of God.
One aspect of humanity which Satan cannot control is our ability to sin. When we step out of fellowship with God, either by simply thinking separately from Him, or by sinning, we have an opportunity for Him to forgive us those sins via the mechanics of 1stJohn 1:9. That forgiveness, allows God to futher His sanctification process of the believer. That process involves hearing the Word of God, The Holy Spirit making that Word spiritually perceived by faith in the believer’s human spirit, and also involves the development of inward knowledge in the mind as rationalism, and outward knowledge from the heart.
Technology now appears to have reached a point where it may be feasible to construct a communication system, which bypasses audible paths, but may intrude between what has been classically described as the mind and the heart, possibly between soul and spirit.
It appears that resolution of such communications would be dependent upon the proximity of the transmitter and the receiver or possible even to develop a transceiver for each recipient, similar to a cell phone but smaller, like a biochip.
For believers, allow no doubt in this regard. The mark of the beast will be marketed on both legalistic and moral issues. It will likely be marketed as for the general good of the world.
If a manmade device is developed which communicates a counterfeit message, as though it is from God, and it permanently interrupts the mechanisms God had put in place for us to have relationship with Him, through faith in Christ, the prophecies of Revelation regarding the removal of the Comforter, completion of the Church Age, and 2nd Coming all fall into place.

I have something like that already. It's called the Rayovac 3W LED penlight.
I know what you're thinking... but you're wrong. This sucker will light up reflectorized road signs in broad daylight at about 50 yards. Really freaks out the driver. This is NOT what people think of when they think "LED" (not even the "bright" 5mm white LEDs (the type that you see in flashlights and headband lights that have a bunch of LEDs aiming out the front). This is ONE little LED. Very little. (Probably half the size of a "normal" LED -- but MANY times brighter. Probably much brighter than a standard laser pointer. I'm serious, this is eye-busting bright. You'll burn your retina. If you remove the reflector and hold your hand in front of the LED, you will feel heat. The heat will be IN your hand -- the LED remains cold. The heat is from the light, NOT from radiated heat from a hot LED.)
And as to tailgaters... I only used it *once*. Scared myself. Worried about triggering road-rage in some donkey-orifice (the common state of tailgaters). The guy zoomed around us, cut us off, flashed his lights, hit his brakes, hit his gas, I think he even tried to fishtail (at 60MPH, LOL!) before bookin' on down the road.
All I did was casually hold it over my sholder and give him a little dose of it. You CANNOT look at it directly, at least not at close range. Hell, you can't even "look" at it with your eyes closed -- closed tightly! I've tried this on folks who think, "oh, right, and LED flashlight, *yawn*" -- I say close your eyes -- TIGHT. Then I flick it at 'em for a split second. I always get a "WOW!" reaction. (You can also see the bones in your fingers. Close your fingers together, hold it under them, you will see the bones. No need to turn off the room lights either.)
Anyway, you can buy a very effective "idiot in front/idiot in back"-control device for $25 -- but be warned, it may trigger hostility, just as this audio thing may trigger paranoia. People who are driving aggressively do NOT expect to see the Death Ray from Hell come blasting them in the face -- let alone from INSIDE the car they're screwing with.
What happens when they transmit background noise indistinguishable from the ambient sounds around you, and include subaudible verbal content?
Well, I know what happens (it's been pretty well-documented over the years) -- but what I mean is, what happens to them?
My guess? Nothing. After all, who's going to complain? No one will know that they're doing it, hence, no one will complain.

What happens when "they" are -- instead of soap-sellers -- politicians? Or government officials?
