It’s not an invasion of privacy, you’re walking around in public, nothing wrong with making sounds that can be heard by people in public. Making it sound like it comes from inside your head is creepy and annoying, but not invasion of privacy.

Your point makes sense.

But I find the idea intrusive.

I think it unsettling that a person be subject to something that he/she may or may not be able to figure out where it comes from.

Yes, it is an invasion of privacy. The signals being sent out are not audible in themselves, but appear audibly perceived in the cranium.
