LAS VEGAS - Six junior high or high school students were shot Tuesday after they got off a school bus, and two were critically hurt, police said.
Gunshots rang out in northeast Las Vegas just before 2 p.m., Officer Bill Cassell said.
Six young people were transported to area hospitals. Four had minor gunshot injuries and two were in critical condition, Cassell said.
At least two people are believed to have taken part in the shootings, he said. Police were not saying whether the shooting suspects were on foot or in a vehicle.
The shooting occurred less than a mile from two elementary schools, Woolley and Clyde Cox Elementary Schools. A Clark County School District official said the schools were not closed.

Damn, Vegas has MS-13 too? Thought it was just in Texas.
It's not just this country.
If they just made murder illegal, it would all stop, right?
I said the exact thing yesterday. They should say “SHOOTER X” did xyz. SHOOTER X and nothing else.
Or at least inviewing anyone who has bad things to tell on them. Like the time he dropped the tray in the lunch room, couldn't get a date to prom, picked his nose. Every bad photo from the yearbook showing the acne in full bloom should be the only ones we see. Girls that turned him down could tell how they rejected him. Make it a public display of what a jerk the guy was.
According to CNN Headline news - 2 adults shot, 4 teens. Two teens are in critical condition, and in critical care, but not life threatening. Two are being observed with soft tissue damage, two have been released from the hospital. Automatic or semi-automatic weapons used, it looks like.
A fight a Mojove High School in North Las Vegas started yesterday. A gang unit is involved. Clark County school district has 300,000 students.
Thanks.

It make sense in my head.
Prayers for the wounded students and their families. Prayers
that the critical ones will survive this monstrous ordeal!
They will be going through hell before this is over with
all the media coverage and the frothing at the mouth over
the shooters.
I just pray they can get through it without being more
traumatized than they already are.
Isn't societal evolution great?
It strikes me that Sundays incident in Colorado works against the gun grabbers. Perp stopped in his tracks by private citizen carrying a concealed firearm.
Lots of anger and tightly wound people...Walking mental time bombs, planning for the big day. Throw in tens of thousands of gang members, many here illegally, many with nothing to lose, that don't fear jail one bit...A second home if you will.
Fox, those words are too chilling to even contemplate, at this time.
Luv's right. We need to pray, now.
Very chilling. Moreso because it seems to be true.
How very sad.
A tragic reality.
The time has arrived where every parent needs to find a WAY pull their child out of the criminal institution know as big city public schooling. In some states it isn't just the big cities, it's pervasive through out the entire state.
How odd that so many teens are off their medicine when the SCOTUS is considering a major 2a case.
I heard one radio news person describe the perpetrator as "the shooter whose name isn't worth mentioning".
The nuts have been triggered.
“When we eventually get a school shooting a day, parents will stop sending their kids to public (government) schools. “
I’m not so sure. The attraction of subsidized day care services seems to be a powerful attractant.
