I’ll ask you the same question Rod.

Given how weak they are on the illegals questions, why are Huck and McCain doing so well in the polls while serious anti Illegal candidate like Tancredo and Hunter can get no where?

I mean you have McCain at around 20% in some polls! If there were 1 canidate I thought sure was DOA with Conservatives it was McCain!

So to what do you attribute McCain and Huckabee doing so well? Of course, this is all assuming the polling data we see is accurate.

It’s all political spin designed to keep the rats in as much power as possible. Money spent defending the country can’t be used for social programs. That’s what it is all about.

Boycotting elections is great for your personal ego, but on a National Level it is a disaster. You would prefer 8 more years of clinton so you can Wash Your Hands.

Until you’ve done everything you can to get your candidate elected you don’t have the right to boycot. Millions have died for that right and you throw it in the trash.

Nomination for Post of the Day, bray!

As I said earlier to those who will take their ball and go home--GET OVER YOURSELVES!

Newt says that Mrs. Clinton has underperformed in ways that have surprised him (and delighted me).

Gee...what changed Newt's tune? He used to find her fabulous.

We could do worse than Rudy as president...although he's not my #1, but I'd be OK.

Just started reading the thread and will go back and watch some of the TIVO'd morning shows. I'll take my lead from the one's recommended on the thread.

1. Many of "us" would be OK with Rudy; after all he's not Clinton/Obama/Democrat but he's no Reagan either.
2. Some of "us", not me, would be OK with Huck. Why? I just don't see him as my President. He is very weak on foreign policy, immigration, & taxes just for starters.
3. Fred? Many of "us" would be OK with him, me included. Is he electable? Maybe; but he's got to pick up the pace.
4. Mitt? Good man? Definitely, but I don't think he's electable but that's jmho.
5. What "us/we" must decide is who among our plethora of candidates will pull the most votes from the "undecideds", is truly electable, and back him 100%, even if we have to hold our noses and "pull the lever".
6. Or we can all pull for our very own #1 "makes me feel good" candidate and then bitch, moan, and gnash our teeth for the next 8 + years while the Democrats take this country rapidly toward their ultimate goal. Socialism.

OH yeah, almost forgot. I’ll vote for whomever the Republicans select as their candidate.

Ron Paul is the exception.

They seem more then willing to accept very weak on Immigration candidates because those candidate are saying the right things on their other issues.

Thanks. Finally someone has said it.

I agree. Any Republican is better than a Clinton in his third and forth terms.

I am not boycotting any election. I am voting in the 2008 election and will vote a straight GOP ticket except for the Presidency if Rudy, Mike, or John get the GOP nomination. I am not washing my hands, just not willing to be an accomplice in the destruction of this country. In the meantime, I will be working hard to see that Rudy, Mike, and John don't get the nomination.

Until you’ve done everything you can to get your candidate elected you don’t have the right to boycot. Millions have died for that right and you throw it in the trash.

I am not boycotting. I will be voting. And I am well aware of how precious our right to vote is, which is why I vote in every election, even when stationed overseas. I would like to think that my 36 years of public service, including a year in Vietnam and another 8 months off the coast, helped defend and preserve those rights.

Bottom line for us soon will be that we probably will have to pick from Fred Mitt or Rudy

Yes, and the slash and burn tactics against, especially Rudy, just helps the Dems.

Feinstein worries more about Pakistan than Iran.

For the time being, however, she is still willing to provide aid to them to fight terror.

Feinstein is unbearably shallow.

Is it always the number one issue? Depends. How big is Ramos and Compean being played up, how big are issues like terrorists crossing the border being featured in the msm...

Depends...How often does the cashier speak in Spanish to the customers ahead and behind, while saying nada to you. How many times are you sideswiped on the road by a beater car. How many times do you call and get an automated service attendant who explains everything in Spanish before you can press #1? How many times the road or Verizon crews are working in front of your house, (in my case tearing up the lawn) and they don't respond to the question, "What are you doing?" Eeeesh.
