I don’t know why they endorsed Fred. Presumably they did not ask the Iowa voters.

Actually the CIA tape is another example of the Democrats smashing their face right into the door they mistakenly think is opening for them.

MOST Americans reaction to this is "So what". Followed by, ":Man these Democrats are more worried about playing silly partisan games then keep us safe!"

Gallup had a recent poll. In in for the 1st time ever, a majority of people said "My Congress person is more intrested in playing political games then fixing the issues that concern me." That is REALLY bad news for Democrats.

Prior to this people trusted their Congressperson and thought all OTHER Congresscritters were slime. NOW the Democrats have managed to lose even that edge.

This CIA Tape hysteria is yet another example of how divorced from the concerns of the average people the Democrats, and their minions in the US Junk Media, are.

I see it as Fox's endorsement of a losing combination for the Rep. candidacy. I am sickened that Huck, McPain and Rudy are being courted/displayed/supported, but no mentiion of Fred, Mitt, Hunter. Fox has joined the MSM society. Their agenda is showing.

The “God knows what reason” was that at the time, anti-Clinton “Arkancide” hysteria led alot of conservatives (including many Freepers) to believe that Dumond was railroaded. Huck was doing what his base wanted in encouraging that scumbag’s parole. I don’t give him a pass on it, but it’s hypocritical to act like was acting on his own.

I agree. Fox news is about as conservative as Olympia Snow.

And about as fair and balanced as Bill Moyers.

I had some sweet cinnamon bread, bacon, apple juice and a rather tasty homemade strawberry orange smoothie.

The ingredients, if anyone’s interested:
1/4 cup strawberries, thoroughly mashed or blended
1/8 cup orange juice
1/8 cup skim milk
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

Throw them together, mix well, try to mash up the strawberries as much as you can, and you have a delicious breakfast drink.

Presumably they did not ask the Iowa voters.

Are Iowa voters reflective of the national opinion? Do we really know what Iowa voters believe on the issue? Don't you think that the National Right to Life Committee is more informed about the issue and where the candidates stand?

"If we never have a President from Hope Arkansas again, it will be too soon."

Couldn't agree more. I worry about something in the water there.

Fox’s spin has always been pro-evangelical and pro-WoT. It makes sense that they would focus on Huck and Rudy.

Kabar, Iowa voters are most certainly NOT representative of the “national” opinion on anything. They’re a farming state, specifically corn. They care about farm aid, ethanol, and many are misguidedly pro-amnesty because they think that’s the only way they can get affordable labor (and, having relatives in the dairy farming business, I can say that for Iowa, they probably are wrong).

OMG Rudy just buried Fat Tim with a huge shovel on the Qatar question!!

Tim inferring that Rudy was doing business with the terror types and Rudy turned it around so fast it was hilarious.

"Tim Qatar is an ally of the US, when you walk the streets there (which Rudy has done and Tim has not) you see lots of Americans there, they are an ally Tim".

. Stuck it to him big time. Fat Tim could not have looked any more stupid that he did.

Yes, there are extremists on both sides who want a candidate to promise them something, even if it is clearly impossible. They just want to hear it.

The lunatic dem fringe wants someone to say he will bring the troops home immediately.

The militant conservatives want a promise for a constitutional amendment against abortion and gay marriage, even though a thoughtful candidate like Fred Thompson has explained clearly that this is just not something that can be accomplished and that we should do more practical things that will actually have a result.

A loony tunes like Huckabee is perfectly willing to promise the moon.

Let’s put it this way: we have a global command center in Doha, Qatar. That tells us how close of an ally Qatar is.

He said if we can do stuff like financial transactions over the internet in a matter of seconds, we should be able to send illegal aliens home and within a matter of days they can be back, working legally with their heads held high.

I'd love to see the transcript. If that is pretty close to an exact quote, it needs to be trumpeted by all his opponents!

The only person I have spoken to in Iowa stated he found it disconcerting to see Fred talk about his numerous sexual affairs when he was single. This person also thought it strange and disconcerting that Fred has babies and a trophy wife so much younger than he is. If pro-life views are a pennant issue then along with that “pennant” must go personal and traditional sexual mores.

I think these things might matter to some but not to me. Incidentally, people usually do not vote on the basis of endorsements. It is a start to achieving recognition but it is not the final matter in the decision making process which invariably is broader, unconscious and founded on personal feelings and assessments of the candidates.

I think Huckabee is surging simply because he is the only one the Pro Lifers trust.

That is certainly part of it. However, Huckabee is utterly charming, endearing, witty, and he offers a positive message. In other words, he is just downright likeable. The voters are buying into his persona hook, line and sinker.

Most folks catch his clever soundbites, some have seen him shine in a debate, but very few have researched his record as the political junkies like us have.

Morning everyone. I’ll start off this morning with a bit of good news you will NOT hear on the MSM:

General John Batiste has spent the last few years speaking out against the continuing efforts of the US in Iraq. Today, in the Washington Post, the former commander has decided that the surge strategy has succeeded in rescuing the US mission, and that Iraq really is the center of the war on terror. Batiste writes a joint op-ed column with Pete Hegseth announcing that he now supports the Bush administration’s pursuit of stability in Iraq
