The book they used to burn now fires new revolution of faith in China

n China it is known as the “sacred doctrine” and it has become one of the country’s bestselling books. Yet it has nothing to do with the thoughts of Chairman Mao and its teachings have been in conflict with the forces of Communism for generations.

Demand for the Bible is soaring in China, at a time when meteoric economic growth is testing the country’s allegiance to Communist doctrine. Today the 50 millionth Bible will roll off the presses of China’s only authorised publisher, Amity Printing, amid public fanfare and celebration.

[Oh, dear, this will make the atheist dysangelists unhappy.]

Indeed it will. Praise the Lord God our Father and His son Jesus Christ, our Saviour by His Holy Spirit, our comforter and teacher of the forbidden scriptures(by communists and other dictators of the earth, haters of mankind's rights given by God to mankind).

A friend who is familiar with the underground church in China says that there are now more Evangelicals there than in the U.S.

Good for them, sad for us.

“And they sang a new song:

“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” - Revelation 5:9

A big “HELLO” to my brothers and sisters in China!

To be fair, if only 10% of their population is evangelical, that gives them almost as many evangelicals as we have people.

It is such a sensitive issue that Chinese officials denied rumours recently that China would ban international athletes from bringing in Bibles to the Olympics in Beijing next August.

However, the official Olympic website states: “Each traveller is recommended to take no more than one Bible into China.”

Despite MSM reports, Christ is doing quite well throughout the world.

For example, Billy Graham has preached to more than 2.5 billion people. Assuming only one percent of his audience decided to accept Christ as their Savior (which I personally think is an extremely conservative estimate), over 25 million lost souls were added to God's kingdom by this one ministry.

For example, as you can see here, more than 6.2 billion people have seen the Jesus Film -- the Gospel of Mark -- since it's release in 1979. Over 218 million people have made a first time profession of faith after hearing God's Word proclaimed.

For example, the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa's organization) has grown to over 5,000 sisters and brothers (they accept men now) and is ministering to millions of people each day in over 130 countries. Assuming each brother and sister reaches only one new person per day (another extremely conservative presumption in my opinion), over 1.8 million new lost souls are being touched every day. Multiply this number by the almost 60 years the ministry has been active, change the number of lives touched to a more realistic number, and their impact becomes truly staggering.

A lot of awesome things are going on in these end times!

Oh.. a hand full of them Maoists are still around and they got a few supporters.

"Even though Beijing remains deeply concerned about rural poverty and unrest, the government ignored the plight of land-insecure farmers at the behest of the old guard, who have lost dialectical battle after battle since Deng Xiaoping took power in 1978 and set China on its course towards a market economy. For them, private ownership of property would have been the last betrayal of the Maoist revolution. Hundreds of scholars and retired officials signed a petition against the [new national property law] . . .

"Because farmers cannot own land, they also cannot mortgage their plots to obtain bank loans, leaving them unable to raise long-term capital to invest in supplies and equipment to raise production. Nor can they sell the land or change its status. That is a major factor in what is becoming one of the world’s worst disparities between rural and urban incomes . . .

[O]fficials [can] simply take land for commercial, industrial or residential use. It is seizures like this, often done at short notice and with little or no compensation, that provoke violence as farmers confront police, developers, landlords and hired thugs. According to one study, in the first nine months of 2006 China reported 17,900 cases of 'mass rural incidents' in which 385,000 farmers joined protests, most of them over illegal land appropriations . . ."[A]rmed police were reported to have shot at least 20 villagers out of 300 who were protesting the confiscation of their land. In June 2005 in Dingzhou, Hebei province, six farmers died in a fight with 200-300 armed men in civilian clothes hired by those responsible for building a state-owned power station on their land."

[End of quotes]

Hey! what do those 800 million peasants know? It's a paradise over there in the world's newest free-market wonderland. Keep pouring technology and billions of dollars into the democratic peace-loving People's Republic. The PLA thanks you, Free Trader, buddy!

Yeah, the Maoists and Dengists got religion alright.

A final quote -

"'Over the last 15 years, China has written some of the prettiest laws in the world,' said Jin Zhong, editor of Kaifeng (Open) magazine in Hong Kong. 'But they are not enforced or enforceable. For that, you need institutions that oversee the police, the judiciary and the local governments and not a single source of power, as there is now.'"

The very cool thing about this trend, is that Biblical believers will force anti-communism change in China from the bottom, ie culturally - up. That, coupled with capitalism and money from the top, spells a short end to the Chinese government system as we now know it.

No, not sad! It is the fruits of American evangelism, blessed by Christ - and that can never be sad. And considering that the VAST majority of Americans believe in Christ (approaching 90%) I find it rewarding to know that the power of God is known throughout the earth...

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ the world over, and praise be to the One whom loves us all!

Governments will obey their own laws only as long as they fear the reaction of the people if they don't

They actually filmed a Christian movie in Hong Kong a couple of years ago. It's a tear jerker, and maybe too religious for a lot of Western movie fans, but it's a very moving biopic about Dr. Joanna Tse, a Christian physician who risked her life to treat SARS patients during the epidemic there. The title is The Miracle Box.

I was amazed that such a film was made there. The Chinese authorities apparently tolerated the film as long as it didn't criticize the government in any way. The Chinese regime is never mentioned at all in the film, but Christianity is highlighted from beginning to end.

Yes! I believe we will see the end of communism in China at least in the next 10 years or so.

Soviet communism lasted about 70 years.

Chinese communism will last no longer than that..

And in China we are seeing the fruit of the American and other missionaries who gave themselves in love and obedience to take the Gospel to all nations followed by the decades of persecution and the blood of the martyrs in China.

The Chinese Christians have asked that we not pray for an end to the persecution there but to pray that they may be found faithful despite the persecution.

AS these dear brothers and sisters in Christ begin to see the transformation of China out of communism’s brutality and into a national love for freedom which the Gospel always brings....I believe we will see in the West an increasing wave of persecution unlike anything Western Christians have experienced in several hundred years (those in non communist countries).

The Chinese will be sending missionaires here.
The Chinese Christians will be praying in earnest for Christians in this country. (expect both are already happening)

God’s ways are wonderful. Praise His Holy Name!
