A terrible line was crossed at Annapolis.
Last week, a line was crossed. A terrible line was crossed at Annapolis. With the world looking on, the President of the United States sponsored Judeophobia. Jew-hatred was okay, understandable even.
Under the auspices of a global "peace" conference, the White House sanctioned Jew-hatred. The Jew is contemptible, inferior, ignorant, politically and socially disenfranchised: separate entrance ways, service entrances for the Jews, refusal to touch or shake hands with a Jew, refusal of audience members to wear the translation earphones when Ehud Olmert spoke.
"Saud Al-Faisel's ears, underneath his red keffiyah, were left bare. And no, it wasn't because he understood Hebrew. It was the Saudi method of demonstrating their relationship to the State of Israel. Even as the Israeli Prime Minister was greeting him and speaking of peace, they were refusing to listen. For a minute I thought I was wrong that maybe there was a technical problem. But then I saw his aide next to him - also leaving his ears demonstrably naked."

The conduct of the US she describes here is despicable.
If you are concerned about the danger and hypocrisy of the Annapolis "Peace" conference this article is a must read.
It will definately send your blood pressure up!
I just started skimming from that point. Israel has had no better friend in the White House than Bush. He can do no more than bring the Mid-East participants to the table. He can't MAKE them do anything. If Israel can't deal with these people--and I'm not suggesting she should--columnists like this one can do better than go for eye-catching one-liners like that BS quoted above.
It didn’t get any better as it went along.
I skimmed it and you’re right. I guess the writer is mad Bush didn’t use his magic wand and make all the anti-Semites disappear from the Middle East, which of course would have left the world’s largest unoccupied sandbox.
sigh.......someone seems to always say it first.
Maybe the children of Israel should tell their distant cousins in America to stop voting for the Democrats. Till then I’m not gonna lose any sleep over whiners who think we don’t do enough for them.
It’s just so knee-jerk, you know? I mean, NO ONE has come up with a way for Israel to get along with her neighbors, but Bush tried ONCE AGAIN to bring the players together to at least get them to talk. They didn’t. The anti-Semites did their usual thing. And BUSH is the one who gets smeared for it?
Perhaps we should all expect more unilateral actions by Israel, Taiwan and Japan in the future. Israel already has hundreds of very powerful nukes. Japan could have that many rather quickly.
Here’s what I wrote about it in my own blog last week:

President Bush started out as a solid friend of Israel. In the last year or so, both he and Condi Rice seem to have caught Jimmy Carter syndrome - where, to inflate their legacy, they are trying to develop yet-another faux Peace Plan for the Middle East. What the columnist was doing was pointing out the ridiculous humiliations Bush made the the Israelis endure (entering via the service entrance, no contact by the Saudis et al with the Israelis, no dialog, etc., etc.) with absolutely no concessions on the part of the Saudis and their friends. To anyone with half a brain, it was a huge, pointless joke!
I agree that the majority of American Jews (and not just in New England) are quite willing to actively support the Democrats as they work with Arabs and Palestinians to destroy Israel and the Jews there. There appears to be a bone deep animosity toward conservatives and Republicans in large segments of the American Jewish community. Personal contact leads me to suspect it is Jewish self-hatred, possibly, survivor-guilt passed from one generation to the next.
So....leaving your ears naked is a sign of not wanting to hear? ....I must be missing something.

A harsh article, but the author is correct. The Government of the United States would never expect a black or asian or Muslim or Hindu, pretty much any race or religion save one, to enter a meeting through the service/side entrance. Harsh criticism, but earned.
Continuing this tragedy, Condoleezza Rice later proclaimed, "I know what it's like as a Palestinian." Such willful stupidity is unacceptable in a US Secretary of State. Rice knows little about the history of the Middle East, the politics, the Koran, the Jews - none of it. This ignorant remark says it all. The Palestinians are not the blacks of the Civil Rights movement or era; Abbas is not the great non-violent civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King (what an insult to even think this!); and Dr. King was a Zionist, a lover of Israel and the Jewish people's right to it. The Jews are not the KKK or the police with the dogs, either; this is not the old South, this the very violent, blood-lusting Middle East.
No he didn't.
He did invite them to America, where he not only legitimized their bigotry, but honored it by requiring Jews to enter through the service entrance. And condoning their shunning.
A breathtaking example of diplomatic incompetance by a morally bankrupt Condi Rice. And George Bush.
