Most of “we the people” do have 12/24 off as an employer provided benefit.
I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect an employer, the federal government, to offer it off as a benefit as well.
Before the EO, federal employees were scheduled for ten days off in calendar year 2007. Ten to eleven days seems pretty typical.
I’m a Gumment woiker and I am taking the day off, and charging the time to my hard earned accruals. The way it SHOULD BE!
Federal employees get two weeks of vacation a year, to go to the beach and do no work.
The other 50 weeks they sit in their offices and do no work.
You are WRONG as I have always worked on 12/24 unless it fell on a weekend or I take a vacation day as I am doing again this year. I only know of about 25% of my friends or acquaintances that have off on 12/24.
We get 10 days, but 12/24 is not one of them.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
It would be nice if "you the people" would just stay home that day and not flood the malls and other stores so "we the folks" could just stay home also.
Cool! 8 and 1/2 here...(the 1/2 is Dec 31)
I’m not sure where you get “most” of the people being off, but it would make a good poll. It’s not a benefit where I work, but it’s so slow, they’ll be asking for volunteers to take unpaid time off.
