Yep, just as no one in the military has never worked a day in their life. Just like those men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan are enjoying year long, all expense paid vacations at taxpayer expense.

This means that all the office parties will have to happen the previous Friday (12/21). So, no work will get done that day either.

GRRRRR! So then you were being sarcastic! I’m not sure I understand your use of “anecdotal” but I hope you are not inferring that 20+ year career NCOs never work a day in their life. That’s just silly.

My law firm gave us the 24th and 25th off. They set it up for a 4 day weekend for everyone.

Federal employees get two weeks of vacation a year, to go to the beach and do no work.

The other 50 weeks they sit in their offices and do no work.

Ex-CUSE ME? I must have missed that part of my fedgov orientation. I get 4 hours of leave for every two weeks I work, and those hours are tracked by a very diligent computer. I had to work for 5 months before I could take 5 straight days of vacation. I have to work for 3 years before those 4 hours increase to 6.

Stick with just posting what you know.

I am very lucky in that my Mr. has the week of Christmas off until the day after new years. ( I guess that’s Dec. 22 thru Jan. 2.) It’s paid time off and doesn’t count toward his vacation time, sick leave or personal days. It’s great to have family time during the holiday and not worry about finances.

Things change, however, when the mysterious John Galt begins a revolution against the existing order, believing that the parasitic society would destroy itself if its competent and hard-working members would simply stop working.
