Radio station news announcer designated the SKS he used as an “assault rifle”. Clearly trying to scare those that don’t know better.
Same old stuff from the bozos in the media.
Interesting that the guy was already a felon and barred by law from having a firearm in his hands. Guess those gun control laws don’t work real well huh?
In FL, you can laugh at the “NO GUNS” signs and walk on past. They aren’t enforceable at all.
Realistically, what can be done? Full police investigation of anybody known to have a gun?
The reports I heard today said everyone saw this coming. Unlike most of these events where everyone says the person was quiet and kept to themselves. Everyone is saying it was just a matter of time before this person did something stupid.
“Next, we are going to see signs all over the Malls saying not to bring in weapons”
An open invitation for people like him to bring in weapons knowing that nobody else can defend themselves ....
If only the mall had some of these around it would have been totally safe..........
It's not like anyone with a brain would want to face down an SKS-wielding attacker armed only with a pistol, but A) It's better than nothing, and B)widespread and common CCW's can at least serve to give potential killers pause and realize that there's a possibility that all his victims may not just lay down like sheep.
Prayers out for all the killed and injured.
The ad for this sign:
Protect yourself and others around you by maintaining the rule that does not allow weapons on the premises.
People never learn...
I heard that he was fired for stealing money ($17 was mentioned) from his employer. Sorry, I’m not feeling bad for him.
And his parting words: now I’m gonna be famous - or something to that effect. That seems to be the ambition of a generation. Fame.
No depth to a life like that.
My prayers for the families who are suffering the loss.
It’s obvious that the rifle was going down to the mall to kill people with or without its owner.
A no weapons sign issues stern visual warnings about one of today's most pressing safety concerns gun-related incidents. No firearms signs protect the grounds 24/7/365 with a range of heavy-duty security signs ideal for a variety of organizational and business environments.
Illustrate a serious no-weapons policy on your premises. Dont let the threat of gun incidents or violence overrun the security of your property.
Graphic red-circle symbol understood by all. Keep firearms away.
One of the strongest security statements you can make. Signs deliver instant, impossible-to-ignore results.
Heavy-duty construction means years of security protection. Choose from various colors, messages.
Yup! Notice how the word "Christmas", that has been all but expunged from the MSM's (and the stores') vocabulary, is suddenly being used all over the place in conjunction with this story.
It's Hannukah right now, why wouldn't they be Hannukah shoppers? Or, if they are black, Kwanza shoppers?
Or maybe the spate of "holiday shootings" can be blamed on the fact that the magic and goodwill has been taken out of what used to be Christmas and just the stress is left.
And one other thing .. an SKS is NOT a high powered rifle! In qualitative, technical terms, the SKS is not high power. But in the usual semantics, at least of the Midwest, a high powered rifle is anything thats not a .22 rimfire. The 7.62mm x 39 is slightly smaller but roughly equivalent to a caliber .30-30; adequate, though marginal, for deer hunting. If I were explaining it to a non-gun person, high powered rifle would seem an acceptable term.
This over-analyzing crap is getting to be too much!
” This kid was probably exhibiting all of the classic signs of a time bomb, waiting to go off. And to top it off, he was supposedly playing with guns the night before the killing spree!!”
So - what would you have done if you had been sitting there with him?
I noticed Fox had the shooter’s picture on their chiron this morning. A little thumbnail image right above the time on the lower right-hand part of the screen. Disgusting.
No no. He was a good boy who was just beginning to turn his life around.
We are having a debate in Virginia because we don’t want to be quick to label mentally ill people as “dangerous” just because of these types of shootings. But we DO want to be quick to label them so they can’t buy a firearm. What to do? How do you label them without labeling them
