The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows a new national leader in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. While enjoying an amazing surge, Mike Huckabee has earned support from 20% of Likely Republican Primary Voters nationwide. Three points back, at 17%, is Rudy Giuliani. That’s the lowest level of support ever recorded for Giuliani in the tracking poll and represents a seven-point decline over the past week. Huckabee has gained eight points during the same time frame (see recent daily numbers).

It looks like Fred has dropped from yesterday and Huck has continued to climb. Not good.

It's a move within the margin of error but if it doesn't snap back in the next few days I'd get concerned.

It appears that Huck or the UnAmerican Democrat Party will be in the WH.

If a wartime President is not going to be elected, and we let the Gitmo terrorists go, and cannot interrogate fully, as insisted on by Huck and Hill, then our guys will be in extreme danger over there.

The Huckabee surge is a revolt by social conservatives revolted by the thought of Giuliani getting the nominaton.

Now, it's up to Fred Thompson to create a backlash of support by conservatives fed up with the other RINO contenders. With Giuliani and Romney in free fall, the door is open for Fred to do just that.

It appears that Huck or the UnAmerican Democrat Party will be in the WH.

Huckabee is a recent phenomenon and, with the ebb and flow we have seen in this race, I don’t agree that it is apparent he will be our nominee. We still have a race.

Huckabee’s gaffes of yesterday and the day before haven’t spread through the net yet, and they will.

Guilliani is NOT done. His strategy is very powerful and well funded. He CAN take the nomination on the strength of California, NY and FL delegates. The “South” will not include Florida because of the former NYers there. If he wins those three huge state’s delegate arrays he is very hard to stop.

Stay on the attack against Guilliani.

The polls are so laggard and valueless. This is a primary election not a national election.

The primaries will drive the outcome outward to the nation. Not the other way.
This election will rock and roll harder than any in memory for most.

Each primary will have a big impact on the national polls. Watch because it’s going to be a roller coaster.
