Parents in California have started reacting to the state's newly mandated homosexual indoctrination program by pulling their children out of classes, and state Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell is warning districts they'll lose money if that happens.
A spokeswoman for a ministry called Considering Homeschooling said she already has seen an overwhelming increase in requests for information about homeschooling.
As a result, spokeswoman Denise Kanter told WND that her group is sending out 5,000 DVD packages to churches around the state that include basic "how-to" information to provide parents a direction to turn when they choose to protect their children from the new school agenda.
The new law demands, "No teacher shall give instruction nor shall any school district sponsor any activity that promotes a discriminatory bias because of a characteristic [including perceived gender.]"
"With the passing of SB 777, a Christian parent cannot, in good conscience, send their child to a public school where their child will be taught or coerced into a lifestyle or belief system that is contrary to the faith they hold dear," Kanter told WND.
"Fortunately, SB 777 has caught the attention of many churches and pastors here in California, and as they should, they are calling on their congregants to take their children out. To help in this endeavor, our ministry has sent and will continue to send out free packages directly to churches containing information on how they can encourage their congregants to homeschool their children, as well as how to create in-church parent led schools," she said.
"We hope our resources will encourage Christians to focus on the importance of not leaving Christ out of a child's education," she said.

If it's phonics, reading, math, spelling, geography, etc., the teacher and/or administration shouldn't mind. In fact, they should be pleased that a parent cares so much about their child's education. If the teacher and/or the administration balks at your visit, then you know they are teaching something they do not want you, the parent, to know about. That can happen with any of the academic subjects simply by the subtle examples they present or the words used to describe topics - for example, "people who love each other and live in the same house" to define "family." (That definition was used in my son's Cub Scout pack!)
When our children were in second grade, I made a couple unannounced visits. They went to a private school beginning in third grade. (I thank the Lord that we had begun "saving for college" when they were born. That money ultimately went towards 3-12 education.)
You are obviously a wise and caring parent. Thank you!
PS: If they have something to hide, they will encourage you to help with parties and field trips - but not academics.
Bah, if my mom had tried to make me carve pumpkins for a math assignment in kindergarten I’d have looked at her funny. I always hated cute assignments. I liked pages of problems because it was really easy to do extra and get ahead.
I wonder if some of the “my school’s not bad” folks will have their eyes opened by this (posted article) garbage.

I know exactly what you are saying. My niece (15)and nephew (10) visited with us a few days last Christmas and, like your grandchildren - they felt really free to talk with me & my husband.
I couldn’t believe the stuff they were telling us, my nephew was telling us all about the homosexual stuff he learned in school & he said it grossed him out. He didn’t like it at all. My niece was telling me things her friends were into, like drugs and lots of sex with lots of other kids - I couldn’t help but wonder if she was doing any of that herself. These are the wealthy kids in the city, lots of doctor’s kids and such.
According to my niece, the children that make the best grades and don’t get into any trouble are those from Asian families, and I know they have strong cultural influences that motivate them to do well in school.
I’m disappointed that my sister hasn’t picked up on this, frankly - I don’t think she wants to spend the time teaching her kids herself - it would take away from “her time”.

but the bigger issue is to be able to shape young minds to further the destruction of our traditional society.
Your sample is pretty small. When studies using decent samples are used, there is no doubt at all that private schools and home schools blow public schools out of the water academically.
Oh, and here's my (also small and meaningless) sample: It's true that I went to public school and I'm no dummy, but it's also true that my wife and her seven siblings went to Catholic school and they're all top drawer in the smarts department. The ones who went to college (other than my wife, who's an RN) have masters degrees, the ones that didn't are in highly trusted positions that usually require a college degree, and my wife is posibly the smartest person I know.
As much as I like homeschooling, if I could afford it my three kids would be going to the local Catholic school right now because they would get as good an education as I'm providing and I would have more time to devote to my work. If you can afford it, send your child.

You’re absolutely right - any such questionaire would be worthless, as the SS teachers would lie.
George Lakoff, their prophet, lays out how to handle such things, and it is basically to lie and to “reframe” the issue in SS terms instead of traditional terms.

I agree with all of the posts others have made to you - lots of good advice for any parent of a public-school student!
I should have added I am on the principal’s list of pain in the arse parents...She really doesn’t know what to say to me & I have no problem calling her over the littlest things. However I know about that list & I don’t care I am on it. My friend works in the school office & says the principal get a funny look on her face whenever my husband or I call. As for going into the classrooms to see whats going on my school has 1 day per year that is allowed. Since 9-11 the security is now so tight we have to drop cupcakes etc at the office. Unless you are a class mother you can’t get into the classroom unless they fully check you out if you want to read a book even. It was never like this with my now adult children. Trust me there is a list ..lol.
My sons like to do things with shapes. I didn’t say it was a *good* lesson :-).
I always hated “projects,” too, especially group projects. Just give me the text, and I’ll memorize it. Then give me the test!
Lots of conservatives still here....I still live here....but a goodly chunk of them pulled up stakes and moved down to the Carolinas and Fla. In the past 4-6 years Long Island went from a NY moderate/conservative Republican bastion to a moderate/liberal Democrat strong hold....

Actually, now that I think about it - I think it was Ron Paul that answered it that way. There’s lots I don’t agree with him about - but on that - I agree 100%!
Again, we agree if in-fact it was Dr. Paul making that statement.
Admittedly I know little of the man aside from the hailstorm of criticism directed towards him, here; though, I can't say I'm surprised as I do know he does advocate/insist this republic return to the strict tenants of our constitution. ;^)
