Parents in California have started reacting to the state's newly mandated homosexual indoctrination program by pulling their children out of classes, and state Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell is warning districts they'll lose money if that happens.
A spokeswoman for a ministry called Considering Homeschooling said she already has seen an overwhelming increase in requests for information about homeschooling.
As a result, spokeswoman Denise Kanter told WND that her group is sending out 5,000 DVD packages to churches around the state that include basic "how-to" information to provide parents a direction to turn when they choose to protect their children from the new school agenda.
The new law demands, "No teacher shall give instruction nor shall any school district sponsor any activity that promotes a discriminatory bias because of a characteristic [including perceived gender.]"
"With the passing of SB 777, a Christian parent cannot, in good conscience, send their child to a public school where their child will be taught or coerced into a lifestyle or belief system that is contrary to the faith they hold dear," Kanter told WND.
"Fortunately, SB 777 has caught the attention of many churches and pastors here in California, and as they should, they are calling on their congregants to take their children out. To help in this endeavor, our ministry has sent and will continue to send out free packages directly to churches containing information on how they can encourage their congregants to homeschool their children, as well as how to create in-church parent led schools," she said.
"We hope our resources will encourage Christians to focus on the importance of not leaving Christ out of a child's education," she said.

Yes, this happened to me in a math class. The teacher is a really nice person and I think she was racking her brain trying to come up with something that would spark an interest in these lazy kids that never come to class and will flunk this course. She tried to justify it as a math project by giving more points if there were geometric shapes carved on the jack-o-lanterns. Needless to say, the only kids that participated were the kids making the highest grades anyway - and the kids that really needed the extra-credit didn't even do one.

Good for you! I don’t know about a questionnaire, but you’ve gotten a few posts with some great advice here. My adult sons all went to public schools. I didn’t believe in isolating/sheltering them all those years from what the real world would be like. We dealt with it from the get go! Interaction is, IMO, the best preparation for awareness of all that will challenge their core beliefs. Preparing them comprehensively takes dedication and consistent, open communication with them is key! The result, imo, is a well-rounded, aware and prepared individual ready to face the real world. It was a second year math class. See my Post #41 for more details. I was shocked too. I’m getting an A in the class, but I did the extra credit anyway (mostly because I love carving jack-o-lanterns). I sympathize with the teacher, she is under pressure for most of her kids to do well & they just couldn’t care less.
I’m really in shock. But I took two years of classes, and most of my intro math and such, at the community college where, oddly enough, there’s a higher percentage of students who actually want to be there.
Math.... pumpkins... not seeing it.

Did this last year too & it worked. However my husband isn't your normal daddy either. He is a biker & he looks sort of mean. He can be but he is honest & to the point. He is very involved in Sassy's life & will have no problem going to the school if he has a problem. He also is always picked to go on class trips & he gets along with her teachers & principal very well. The bus stop moms even love him & make him cookies. I don't know how long this is going to work for us but so far it is , when it doesn't she will be out of there asap & taught at home .
I feel the school with all their butting into children's lives for their own good is robbing them of their childhood . IMHO its not for the good of the children , its just BS to make certain adult groups happy & I am sick of it.

I have heard many people make that argument, and I'm sure there are situations like that. But I know many children, some who are now young adults, that were homeschooled and their education was nothing like that.
My neighbor's homeschooled their daughter, she ended up going to college and just received her Master's Degree. She is now teaching at the college I am attending and she is only, like 24 years old. The other teachers at the college couldn't wait for her to get out of school - they wanted her to teach there - they have nothing but the highest praise for her.
I know another woman who homeschools her kids, they are heavily involved in extracurricular activities and participate in lots of church activities with other children. They have excellent socialization and are way more mature than other kids their ages. There are two homeschoolers in one of my classes that I believe could do a better job teaching the class than the teacher. They ask questions that astound me and one told me his summer reading list - most school kids haven't read that many books in their lives. They are wonderful kids and I can talk to them on an adult level.
My sister says that is why she sends her kids to public school - she doesn't have to work, they travel all over the world & she could give her kids the best education ever. But she's afraid they won't be able to handle the "real world" once they get out on their own. What I have witnessed seems to prove the exact opposite.
The chances are that a homeschooled child will emerge into the "real world" with his self-esteem fully intact - not having had the temptations of drugs, promiscuous sex and "alternative lifestyles" pushed in his face daily. The chance that they will not become a teenage mother, teenage father, have to go to some sort of rehab, want to get lots of skanky tattoos and piercings - is so much less when you know where they are and have control over what they are exposed to at home.
Sure, they'll be prepared for the real world when they get out of school - if they survive it.
This is phase I indoctrination. Phase II includes the rest of the “gay lifestyle” yet hiding in the closet that tells children it is a good thing to let homos have sex with them.

Good question. I remember there was one candidate at the last GOP debate on CNN - the question asked was which 3 Federal Programs they would eliminate first - I can't remember which one, but one of them definitely said the Department of Education. That would be an excellent first step, although I doubt if they would be able to pull it off.

My son’s kids are in a “really good school” in an Eastern state, one of the best, in a semi-rural area.
To give my son and wife a break we took the 3 older of their 5 children down to the beach. We are going to do this more often, because, wow!, did those kids feel free to talk!
My precious little 6 year grand daughter old told me about the finer points of the F word, who uses it and when, and the uses of the middle finger. Her older brother, in middle school, expanded on the theme.
Thankfully, their 15 year old sister is homeschooled. Two years ago she flat out refused to go back to school and told her parents she would homeschool herself. She is too. How’s that for spunk?
The public school system has been completely taken over by radical leftists. It is corrupt.
Ask them if they intend on teaching the children their subjects or if they intend on treating the children as subjects.
I’m adding a special prayer to my list for this ministry as well as for all the families in California who are considering homeschooling their children.
Perhaps this will be the much needed wake-up call to the State(s) that mandating these things to appease the LGBT community will NOT be looked kindly upon by the majority of citizens in our country... What remains unfortunate is that they are only concerned about this due to the fact that the school districts will lose the federal (and state) tax dollars they depend upon.
It’s also too bad it took such a radical law to open the eyes of these parents, but I’m glad they are beginning to see the light nonetheless...
