Note: Nicole Kidman is a Catholic and claims she doesn't think it to be anti-Christian...

The big problem is this....
...many times children are encouraged to 'read more about it' especially after seeing the movie....
..and the books are progressively anti-Christian/

Can anyone tell me when a religious boycott of a movie *worked*, except to give free press/promotion to the movie in question?
I’m a devout Catholic, BTW.

Very true. I don't want to go around slamming everyone, heck, I have heard of the books but never knew about the anti-Catholic bias until the past few weeks when the buzz about the movie started. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt until I hear otherwise; especially a 10 like Kidman.
Not Guilty

Whenever the only thing I hear about a movie is how it is Surrounded By Controversy[tm], that’s usually a good indication that it stinks under a pool of liquid helium.

But a beautiful one........
Very true. But there's lots of beautiful fish in the sea. No matter how pretty they are, you eventually want to have an actual conversation with them, you know.

The article describes the author as "Agnostic"? Total BS. He's an atheist and devout religious-hater.
It will make a ton of money, sadly. Deceptive advertising. The point of the movie is to sell these books, which are anti-religion.

While I completely agree with your right to your stance, how on earth can you claim its a ‘piece of trash’ without seeing it?
I don’t see the difference between this and those that screeched about Gibson’s ‘Passion of the Christ’ a movie that stuns you like no other I’ve ever seen.

I remember Dogma had virtually no people seeing it until the boycott started, then suddenly the viewers went through the roof. This happens more often than not with boycotts.

Seems like one group of insiders wanted to create the anti-narnia movie.
A “me too” special effects movie to push an anti-christian message.
Note how the commericials are all about special effects and concealing the “kill god” message.

Very, very true. It is all about the product that is put on the screen. If it is a dud, it will fail.

In the same way that I can claim that the Satanic Bible is a piece of trash without reading it. Same goes for anything Michael Moore has made.

Uh, even _The Passion of the Christ_?
And my husband tells me that the ban on _Life of Brian_ in very Catholic Mississippi parishes where he grew up made it the must-see movie of the year.

But at least Kevin Smith, does claim to be a Catholic and he does actually attend Mass, although he does have disagreements with the Church.

Catholics dont marry Scientologists. In Tom Cruise's bio, it is / was stated that he grew up Catholic.

Hmmmm. I don’t rely on others to provide my opinion on topics. We just go about it differently.
No problem.

“Nicole Kidman is a Catholic..”
What does that mean? She is also an actress who puts her job ahead of her religion like most actresses and politicians do.
