The Return of Imus: "Cheney Still War Criminal, Hillary still Satan"
WABC Radio ^ | 12/03/07 | Reaganesque

Posted on 12/03/2007 4:11:09 AM PST by Reaganesque

Don Imus returned to the air waves this morning with a lengthy explanation of his side of the events that took place last April. He spoke of the meeting he had with the Rutger's women's basketball team and the things that he and they discussed. Imus also spoke of how the media said, at the time, that they were going to begin a dialog about race relations and quipped, "I must have missed that." He then pledged to do the media's work for them by using his program as a platform for such a dialog.

Imus then ended the first segment of his show on a defiant note stating that apart from the new sensitivity to race relations, nothing much about his show will change. Imus stated "Cheney is still a war criminal" which got loud applause and then "And Hillary is still the devil" which illicited a huge roar from the crowd. He then concluded: "The I-man is back!"

Anybody know if Bernard McGurk (sp?) is back on Imus’s staff?

He’s there, but he’s being very quiet.

I never thought I’d miss Curtis & Kuby / co-host du jour.

But I do.

Haven’t been up long so I haven’t heard him yet, but he’s supposed to be. From what I’ve heard they’re ALL back including Lou.

“I used to catch a segment of him from time to time on MSNBC, but I could never really get into his show. Not sure why I didn’t keep watching, because the times I did I actually enjoyed it for the most part.”

Continuing, I think I actually like the people around him more than I actually liked Imus.

And I hope he does. I don’t agree with everything he says (I don’t agree with everything ANYONE says) but the behavior of MSNBC & WFAN was Bovine Scatology.

As far as Vice President Cheney goes...

Calling someone a "war criminal" is not even funny, and is the main reason I will never listen to Imus.

If he said that, then he already is caving to the smarmy anti-American race hustlers --- just for ratings and to 'appear' even handed.

If he was serious about political humor, he would stop feeding the elite media machine's obsession with accusing the Bush Administration of destroying the world.

There is nothing remotely funny about attacking those people (Cheney supporters) who have kept the world as free and safe as its been the past 100 or so years.

Yep, that’s Imus.

I like how he’s playing more blues and country between shows.

Don’t go over to the Newsbusters thread... the anti-Imus vitriol is deafening over there.

His comments served to functions. The Cheney remark played to the crowd. The second also played to the crowd but it also expressed the opinion he has expressed for years. He has never hidden his feelings for Bill Clinton’s wife.
I glad to hear Imus back on the radio,(internet).

A cringing, cowardly, no talent clown. To save his miserable “career” he debased himself before the likes of Al Sharpton. No dignity, no honor, no self-respect. Who cares whether he’s back or not?

True. But he’s going to be a royal pain in the butt for Ms. Hillary and that’s all good in my book.

That’s what I like to hear. It was his Liberal buddies who stabbed him in the back so, he will be brutal to them just in time for the elections which is fine by me.

“...he will be brutal to them just in time for the elections which is fine by me.”

Let’s hope so. There is still that pesky Media Matters & Co. that may give him a little grief.

Don’t really care about the show, but was I disappointed when his Salsa was pulled of the shelves at Hannaford Brothers.

Listened to Imus for about 5 seconds this morning before I had to change the channel. He sounded like a cross between the Tom Daschle Show and Larry King to me. Bleech!

"Dick Cheney is still a war criminal," Mr. Imus, 67, told the audience, in an effort to reassure them that he did not intend to completely alter his style, or curb his tongue. "Hillary Clinton is still Satan. And I'm going on the radio."

I already miss Curtis and Kuby.

Hannity's disgust this p.m. at Curtis being bumped was obvious. He said this is the second time it has happened to Curtis and as his friend he was disappointed to see it occur a second time.
