“the man who shot and killed two suspected burglars at his neighbor’s home last month”

so what’s the problem. Should be getting citizen of the year award.

Those burglars that Joe Horn deserve the Darwin Award. You don’t break into someone’s house.

Quannel was outnumbered and most likely did not expect the support that Horn had. Hehehe.

Quanell X was there in the spirit of brotherhood and Kwanzaa I am sure.
Maybe he was a little put off by a larger opposition being there at the same time stealing his thunder.

I think this was about criminals, not RACE.

The racist want to make this about race IMO.

I don’t know if the poll at the site took my vote (asks to register to see results), but I figure it is worth a shot.

“Should the Pasadena man who shot two alleged thieves be prosecuted?

Yes, he broke the law when he shot the men.

No, he did the right thing.

I don’t know.”

Sounds like the only thing we know for certain is that if the two guys hadn’t been robbing the home, they wouldn’t have been killed.

(from Wiki)

Quanell X (born Quanell Jefferson Evans on December 7, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the New Black Panther Party and a community activist in Houston, Texas. His parents were both Nation of Islam members from Los Angeles. After his parents’ divorce, Quanell moved to Houston with his mother and younger brother.

Quanell joined the New Black Panther Party under the “leadership” of Khalid Abdul Muhammad.

I don’t know what a Quannel X is, but it sounds like he should stay out of Mr. Horn’s yard.

P.S.

The Brothers are pretty few and far between in Pasadena, TX. More of a redneck, oilworker, cowboy town if memory serves.

Wasn’t Gilley’s (with the famous mechanical bull) in Pasadena.

Quanell X Quote from later in the article:

“From the very beginning, we said that what the two brothers did was wrong. We don’t condone breaking into somebody’s house. But we are here today because we believe that it’s not right for anyone to become judge, jury and executioner, “ Quanell said, speaking into a bullhorn over angry shouts from the crowd.

“It’s a matter of justice. It’s a matter of fairness. It’s a matter of respecting the law,” he said.

He clearly knows little of the law. Respect the law: Do not break into peoples houses and read the Bill of Rights. He thinks they had a right to break into the house without there being any right of self defence on the part of the home owner or the neighbor.!!!

And whats worse, he refuses to be educated.

DUMB! or WHAT?

Quanelle:

” “If you’ll notice, nobody with us has pushed anybody. Nobody with us has made a racial remark … It’s what I expected. It’s not what I wanted, but it’s what I expected,” Quanell said. “The real question is, be honest, tell the truth. You watched them push, you watched them kick, you watched them shove. Did any of us do that?” “

What in the hell does that tell you? “It’s not what I wanted...”

"But they were met with an even larger group of protesters in support of Horn’s actions."

I graduated from Pasadena (TX) high school. My bet is that the above should read:

"But they were met with an even larger group of heavily armed protesters in support of Horn’s actions."

Yes sir, some of you did, caught on film.

Notice that they didn't even have a bleeped out version of someone using the "N" word, so all we have is the reporters report that they did. They shouldn't have, but knowing the nature of the New Black Panthers, I'd be really surprised if their were not some equivalent words going in the other direction.

IIRC this "racist" neighborhood contains black and Latino homeowners as well as people of European heritage. Just no "Boys from the Hood", all dressed up in nice suits, but with attitudes worse than most folks in the 'hood.

killed two suspected burglars at his neighbor’s

They had burglarized his neighbors, and they weren't suspect to him, he saw them break in and he saw them break out another way. But, when he shot 'em, they were on his, not his neighbor's property and advancing towards him. Advancing is a bit hard to determine, other than the fact that one was shot in the chest, but location when shot is not, you just have to follow the blood trail, if there's a trail and not just a pool. If the evidence, as well as another neighbor's statement to the police had not agreed with his version of events, the police would not have hesitated to haul him away.
