Mitt Romney will deliver a speech entitled Faith in America, addressing his Mormon religion, on Thursday at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Tex.
His campaign is describing the address as an opportunity for Mr. Romney to share his views on religious liberty, the grand tradition religious tolerance has played in the progress of our nation and how the governors own faith would inform his presidency if he were elected.
Mr. Romney personally made the decision to give the speech last week, feeling it was the right moment to do so, his advisers said. After he decided he would make it, the campaign consulted with former President Bushs library, which invited him to deliver it there.
Suspicions about his Mormon beliefs, which many conservative Christians consider to be heretical, have dogged Mr. Romneys candidacy since it began, with many polls showing large numbers of Americans would not vote for a Mormon presidential candidate.
Mr. Romney had resisted delivering a speech dedicated to his faith up to this point, choosing instead to address questions about his beliefs when they came up from audience members and reporters.
But many, including evangelical supporters, have long urged him to address the questions head on and deliver an address modeled after the one John F. Kennedy delivered about his Catholicism to a gathering of Southern Baptist ministers in Houston in 1960 that many credit with defusing questions about his faith.

My prediction is that he will try to aim the "bigotry" arrow that is used so freely here at those who have reservations about mormonism. And, my prediction is, if he does THAT, the Evangelicals will shift further away from him.
This speech, that he has been so reluctant to give, is, IMO, a sign of desperation in light of the erosion in his poll numbers in Iowa, the state he thought he had bought and paid for.
Mr. Huckabees rise in Iowa some recent polls now put him in a dead heat with Mr. Romney, who had led surveys for months has been fueled by evangelical Christians, who believe Mormonism runs counter to Christian orthodoxy.
Although Mr. Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, has been able to make inroads among the evangelicals, an influential voting bloc in the state, interviews with Mr. Huckabees supporters make clear that a sizable number are distinctly uncomfortable with Mr. Romneys religion and cite it as a major reason they would not vote for him in the states Jan. 3 caucuses.
How open minded of you. His speech, prepared for the masses to help assuage their fears of a Mormon POTUS will not sway me in the least. He has already told me, and represented himself to me in obvious terms. I don’t need to be pandered to.
Or better yet:
How can anyone who was born into a multi-generational Mormon family, lived his live in the LDS organization, held many offices in that organization; how could they NOT have ALWAYS been against ABORTION??
Psalms 139:13-16
13. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16. your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
I personally like the SO FORTHs in #6 & #7!!!
You can hide a LOT of ‘theology’ in there!
Don't you mean, "Ill wait until I hear what he has to say before I condemn approve of it?
First show me where they claim Joseph Smith ran a whorehouse and was a polygamist. Then I will demonstrate where they are fiction. Don't you just love getting caught lying? :)
You quote not a single line from either book as false. You provide no source that says each of the two ladies made up their stories.
I couldn't find the lines where they said that Joseph Smith ran a Whorehouse and was a polygamist. You find those lines first : ) Then I will bother with proving the books fiction.
I guess we know who the liar and fraud is. My, my, you cant even provide a link from Farm or Fair. And I guess you completely deny polygamy even existed, and you deny Smiths revelation enforcing it.
You forget where I am coming from. From my viewpoint you are just an alchemist squabbling with another alchemist over who discovered the elixer for eternal life : ) The premise is false.
'cause you ain't WORTHY; Dude!
Interesting lack of logic with that statement. If I was kicked out by the Mormons why would I attack you Anti's? Is that the best that you can come up with?
What liars many Mormons are, and then they expose it on a public site like this one. They should be ashamed and yet they boast. It is amazing the steps satan will take to imput the word of God.
Since this post is directed at me. When have I lied? Show me the lie and I will admit it and apologize. If you can't then are you big enough to admit that you are liar and apologize?

Marking for reference.
When you get threatened that you'll lose your place in heaven; it WOULD tend to be a good motivator to stay hitched!

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the otherThis is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, Never mind, all is wellI am well enough off. I then said to my mother, I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.

You MINDREADER!!!
Being 'reminded' and being 'protected' is a BIT different.

What logic you possess, Legrande. < /sarc> Thanks again for calling your fellow freepers "members of a cabal," "bitter old hags" and the likes. It exposes you for what you are, a hypocrit.
Hey, he'd qualify as a CNN staffer.
Councils got great power!!
HA Ha ha!
Yes, I believe he did. It proves my point, in fact. Thanks for bringing it up for me.
