Thanks for posting this. We, of course, will not be seeing it.

We have seen MAYBE 5 movies in the theatre in the past 10 years. We decided to vote with our money and the entire family saw Narnia in theatre paying full price FOUR TIMES.

Upon hearing that Prince Caspian was coming out in May, my son just did a cartwheel down the hall. LOL

I believe that for the VAST majority of movie goers, the athiest themes will pass right over their heads. If they see it, they will see the movie for escapist fun.

I have to wonder about Pullman. He hates C.S. Lewis, but it looks like he's imitating Lewis's Narnia books in a big way, or at least the filmmakers are:

What's up with that?

Thanks for the heads up! I really thought this was a C. S. Lewis-like story. The ads for it running here make it sound like it was the Narnia book I never knew about.

Pullman, hear this: I DONT HAVE TO DESTROY WHAT SHAMES ME IN ORDER TO LIVE WITH MYSELF. Thats why Atheists have as much freedom in America as I do.

Based on the commercials, it looks pretty stupid to me, frankly. The armored polar bears thing is just...gay.

Sorry, can I say that without going to re-education camp?

All the “crying wolf” over the harmless Harry Potter novels unfortunately undermines attempts to oppose real evil like the Pullman series.

I do not worry about going to the movies. Hallmark has been having some wonderful Christmas movies. There are usually 2 movies each night. If your cable has this channel start watching them. They start at 8 Central time. A Grandpa for Christmas was one of the movies last night and it was terrific.

Last year I got my grandkids the “Cars” DVD for Hanukkah.

When is “Shrek the Third” coming out on DVD?

Roger Friedman of Fox News has been hyping this movie like mad. Several weeks ago, he was already declaring it “golden” and “a smash” even before it has sold its first ticket.

This sums up the movie nicely:

It’s anti-Christian new-age one-worldism for kids.

The evil empire in this movie for children is called the "Magisterium," which is exactly the word Catholics use to describe the teaching authority of the Pope and his bishops. The books are more explicit, in which the evil institution is also called "The Church" and the higher-ups are the "Vatican Council."

Just a coincidence I'm sure. I don't know why Christians are up in arms about this. Anyway, it's just a movie. < /s>

I will definitely wait for Prince Caspian, especially if it's as good as The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

In spite of what some may say or think of The Golden Compass, I have no intention of contributing a red cent or plugged nickel, especially to an Atheist who talks out of both sides of his mouth.
