Xer Ping Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social (and sometimes nostalgic) aspects that directly effects Generation Reagan / Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.

Love your tagline, and I’m one too. In mid-1991 I remember telling friends that we would have to go in again...and that’s when I was still a liberal!

No more like him. He kind of makes today's X-treme Supports seem not so X-treme.
Apparently I got to meet the guy when I was about 1 year old. He asked my dad to design a rocket engine for the Snake River Canyon jump so from what I am told he was actually at my house.

May God bless Evel Knievel and his family.

Kayne West would have to stand on his mothers shoulders just to kiss Evil Knievels ass.

It must have been a real pleasure drinking with EK.I don't remember it as being a pleasure, it was an absolute hoot! Besides being loud, what I really remember, is all of the jewelry he had on. Damn if he didn't glitter. It was a lot of fun.

Just discussing this.
Hubby has a blank signed by him from his Enterprises, older than old. Also a record album with a poster inside, opened but never played. A poster and program signed from 1972 at the Cleveland Convention Center.
Time is ripe for eBay but hubby is the original Mr. Haney!!!!

Somehow, the world seems less “cool.” Thanks for the memories Evel and for filling my head with so many daydreams as a young lad.

Had a long, steep hill right by my house on Griffiss AFB in New York when I was about 10 and we did the same thing. Just about broke my tailbone when we did it with me sitting Tail End Charlie on a 4-man toboggan!IIRC --and correct me if I am wrong -- Griffiss was somewhere near Utica-Rome. I was down near the old Stewart Airbase in Newburgh, New York.

Probably my favorite Evel moment was when he went on Jim Rome’s radio show. The conversation, naturally enough, turned to the Snake River jump, and Evel allowed as how it’d been figured he had a fifty-fifty chance of getting killed in that stunt.
Rome asks, more or less, “Well, if you knew you had a coin-flip chance of getting killed doing that jump, why’d you do it?”
Evel replies, just as calm and matter-of-fact as you please (and this is a direct, word-for-word quote):
“You know who the hell I am?”

My dad dumped it two years ago when he redid their guest bathroom. It sat in happy seclusion under my old sink until then. Oh, well. There are always memories (shedding a tear).
