KHARTOUM, Sudan — Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad."

The protesters streamed out of mosques after Friday sermons, as pickup trucks with loudspeakers blared messages against Gillian Gibbons, the teacher who was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in prison and deportation. She avoided the more serious punishment of 40 lashes.

"Shame, shame on the U.K.," protesters chanted.

As for her fault? I wouldn't go as far as saying fault, but it did require either a willingness to be a martyr, or willful neglect of the realities of life under sharia to go there in the first place.

But, but, but, she had good intentions of teaching the little children. Afterall, she is a parent and they are parents too (isn't that Rosie's line?) And isn't having good intentions the trump card of liberals everywhere? Not the reality of dealing with fundamentalist muzzies who want to kill all infidels...no, its just what you 'feel' in your heart that matters.

My fear, Ms. Gibbons will be killed. My bigger fear, this story will go away. This is such a succinct portrayal of all that islam is...it needs to be on every news outlet. But CAIR probably already has their calls in the alphabetnetworks.

All of which begs the question “Except for fuzzy-brained, do-gooder lefties, why the hell would a non-muzzie westerner want to GO to these places in the first place?”

I know — I know “It’s fer da cherrdrens.”

Good morning.
“It seems to me that this gathering would provide a tempting target for a carpet bombing run.”

Neutron bomb. No sense in damaging the mud huts.

How about even worse: we let them in here by the droves...and I’m not talking about the Southern Sudanese Christians who have been genocided by the northern muslims.

You would not believe the fanaticism of the Muslim Sudanese who live here in this country.

(I feel so dirty...but)

I just went overto DU. I cannot believe what I read over there. They are (audible gasps) critizing the ROP! Some even want to carpet bomb the 'gatherings.' And these are long time posters...not newbies who you could signed up to, well, FReep their threads. Quite of few of them 'get it.'

I'm stuned.

And these are the people we are supposed to understand and accept. Followers of a demon possesed pedophile, who bow down to a meteorite, who are trapped in time 1000 years ago. It is sickening.

We ought to contact our representatives and urge them to introduce a bill to cut off all foreign aid to Sudan.

“Where are the liberals, the feminists and the peaceniks in the face of this display of unbridled fanaticism demanding the head of an innocent woman?”

They are nowhere to be seen or heard because they are like all of their ilk, rampant cowards and spineless slugs of the first order when faced with an enemy who they feel will do violence to them. They only rise up in the face of those who they feel safe in intimidating.

Yes. It seems the more money you throw at them the worse off it is.

And ...how about not letting any Muslims into this country.

Overheard Lord Ahmed(Labour Muslim peer) discussing the situation re visiting Sudan along with Baroness Warshi(Conservative peer - presumably Muslim).
Rushing over to try and secure her well-being - this has been stated in the media as well.

Connery & Dalton were the tough, manly British Tar-type Bonds.....

Moore was a wuss...more likely to give his opponent an STD than actually beat him/her....
