In 2004, Newsweek's Evan Thomas described media bias as being worth 15 points to the Democrats. I do not believe that is any exaggeration, and I believe it applies to almost every race.
Consider the following:
The MSM is trying to use permatantrum™ and fibrication™ techniques to talk us into a recession, or worse. Meanwhile, most sectors of he economy are screaming along at a pace that is the envy of the developed world...

Next, the Washington Times and Michelle Malkin have updates on even more plants at the CNN debate than were at first realized. CNN cannot be this incompetent; it's just hard to imagine this not being intentional, even if it occurred at a level below Anderson Cooper's perceptual threshold. (Powerline indicates that Bill Otis suspects that someone was getting worked here; this was no coincidence or mistake.) Also, according to Malkin, CNN is removing some of the planted questioners' clips from their rebroadcast: Rewriting the historical record: an act worthy of Josef Stalin.
Then, there's fact that an NBC host called George W. Bush a "monkey," and then only moments later...

More like the Democrats would be relegated to a left-fringe party ala the Greens, and the current GOP would split into centrist and conservative parties actually competing against each other for the Hose, Senate, and Presidency.
Hardly anything a self-respecting Republican would want to do ~ sit there with a bunch of mind-numbed, knee-jerk, robot-like Liberal yuppy scum.
On the contrary, I think the country is more conservative than the media would have you believe. The only way for the Democrats to get votes in such a fantasy, would be for them to move further to the right; i.e., “moderate.”
Well, that's interesting. You predict that the GOP would split, and perhaps that's true. Still, the "center" would shift to the right, and I think that would be much more palatable for all of us.
I hope you're right. It's nice to meet someone more optimistic then myself.

If you want to tell me that Ailes is not really a conservative, I won't disagree with you. I would heartily agree.
You can find that line of thought on Dirty Underpants, too. There are many there who truly believe the MSM is on OUR side, not theirs.
I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. Most Dems I know are not raging leftists. They are average Americans many of whom have a special interest the Dems have exploited. Most of them are ignorant about national and world affairs. And concerning economics and the state of our economy they are exceptionally ignorant. One Dem co-worker blames Bush every time the price of a gallon of gas goes up. He well and truly believes Bush is controlling the price of gas for his oil business buddies. No explanation of market forces or the price of a barrel of crude will influence him. And he's got a lot more money than me, and I'm doing alright.
And he's not alone. There millions of Dems just like him who think they have it tough because they have to pay three dollars for a gallon of gas. Only when I tell them my Brit in-laws pay about seven dollars per gallon (and don't whine about it), do they shut up.
I agree more conservative than the media likes to think or have folks believe but I think the nation is more liberal in the modern cultural sense than ever....for a variety of reasons:
2000 election......very liberal candidate got 48.4% of the popular vote
2004 election ....an even more liberal candidate got 48.3%
By contrast McGovern....comparable ....maybe even less liberal actually since many of today’s leftist standards like affirmtive action, rigid gun control and fed abortion funding, the rise of the homosexual privilege, etc were not on the table in his day......George got only 37.5%
Carter was not near the lefty in 76 that he is now....more a Scoop Jackson Southern Modrut.
Mondale got 40%
Dukakis got 45%
*note how we do worse against psuedoconservatives
anyhow....we are in trouble demographics wise in my view....there are only some ever shrinking segments of our culture stemming this tide but I fear some of their spawn are not up to it

FR is generally WAAAAAAY ahead of the curve.
Generally the analysis here on FR is about two weeks to a month ahead of the MSM. (this includes FNC [aka dead blond girl channel])
Although it’s anecdotal, I believe that there are many voters like I have in my family: they’ve voted Democrat because their parents, or their family has always voted that way. They are blue-collar, and generally very conservative, but they vote the party, not the candidate.

I am convinced that if every such question were asked and answered for every component of media bias, and the public were to become generally aware of it, it would be so blatant and offensive that the MSM would be lucky if a 100% loss of ratings were all they suffered.
HOw did she know it was lead? Did she way more after eating a bunch of it or what.
