LAKE FOREST, Calif. Within days of introducing a $50 billion plan to combat AIDS, Sen. Hillary Clinton received a standing ovation at one of the nation's most influential evangelical churches after addressing its "Global Summit on AIDS and the Church." If the Democratic presidential frontrunner's aim was to make inroads into the electorate's heavily Republican evangelical community, her appearance at Saddleback Church with pastor and "The Purpose Driven Life" author Rick Warren apparently didn't hurt.

One reason I tossed his book into the trash can. Unfortunately I learned the truth too late and he got my money...sigh! The good part about all this is GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST SAY SO!
If she was a true conservative the "softness" shouldn't enter in.
Vote on the platform, not the personality and/or charisma of the candidate, Dummy Christians!
Rick Warren is a quack. Many Freepers have been taken in by him in the past. Maybe now the blinders have fallen from their eyes.
He invited all of the candidates. Everyone but Hillary sent video responses.

He, among others, signed an ad that ran in the NYT 11/18, stating “we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world.”

I as well, especially as he visited my alma mater the Late Dr. Falwell’s Liberty University several times while I was there..!!
Not funny. Or did you just mean it to put down the Lord?
LOL... that's quick!
IMO... setting aside any political preferences or views, Rick Warren is a pastor of a Christian Church. It is his duty as any other pastor or any other Christian to welcome individuals to their house of worship. I'm very sure that lots of sane minded folks in the congregation will not vote of Hillary Clinton, even if Rick endorses her which I don't think he's insane enough to do that.
There might be some "weird stuff" about Rick's political opinions lately that does not represent most of Christian Conservative's views but as far as his contribution to spreading the Good News is concern, I'm still thankful to God about the man.
Nonsense. It is not every pastor's duty to invite any speaker.
You want people speaking from the front of the church who promote true christianity. The congregation can get garbage from TV all day long. It's the pastor's duty to see that they get christian messages in church. Her Heinous does NOT preach a christian message.
If you are a preacher, all you have to do to get good press is to equate government assistance with charity, which is a perversion.
Charity is a blessing given freely, usually to a recipient who has repented of destructive behavior. By contrast, welfare is coercive, funded by money taken by force. Its object is driven by covetousness, to use other people's property supposedly to do "good works." In reality, welfare inculcates a system that justifies more money by failure and asks nothing in the way of repentance from its customers is an evil.
Covetousness is born of the presumption that G-d will not provide. It becomes a way of acquiring property by collective claim. It justifies construction of institutions capable of enslaving us.
Rick Warren is thus an agent of sin of the highest degree, an abettor of evil.
Warren is a scumbag
Amen!
The Church of the False Prophet
Say, where are all those purpose-driven fools to step up and defend Rick Warren and by extension, his ‘warm welcome’ to Hiliarly?
Hellooooo?
[crickets chirping]
Incoming!

You're right. I don't know what's up with Rick's mind but certainly Hillary's speech is not the main part of the service... :-) Neither her speech is against Christianity. And I think Rick will never decide on it without informing the Church Leadership Council, if they have.
That experience for Hillary could give her some ideas of what a Christian congregation is and how they deal with folks like her.
As far as the Truth about Christianity is concern, i'm very sure the congregation knows that. They will discern what is not right. Surely some in the congregation must have been surprised by Rick's decision but the problem is they can't do anything about it. Now that it happened the congregation will flood the church council with question about why this thing happened.
Rick Warren supports the murder of 30 million innocent Americans.
One down...
Don't worry I'm not Rick's fan, neither a member. I don't even like his Syrian visit.
Doesn't matter. It's a pastor's duty to safeguard his congregation's minds from junk messages and instead promote biblical ones. That means no inviting evil speakers to ANY meeting, of which the Witch is one.
the congregation will flood the church council with question about why this thing happened.
Really? From what I heard she got a standing ovation. Seems like the majority of the congregation is following their Pastor right off the cliff.
Shame on Warren and any of the council who are allowing in speakers like Obama and Hitlery
And by the way, I don't like Warren's messages either. They are off-center.
ALL her speeches are against Christianity.
