It’s a real shame that party members haven’t been able to recognize his value, and that makes it’s a real bell weather moment for the Republican party IMO.

The GOP leadership is pro NAU. It's really just that simple.

In order to have shame you must have honor and self-respect. CNN has neither so they have no shame.

They're creating their own reality.

I watched the debate last night and I saw Hunter coming out a big winner, with Thompson and Tancredo having strong nights as well. But I take a look at the AP analysis and they mention Hunter ONCE and in such a passing way, burying it in a one-sentence list ("Huckabee, Romney, McCain and Rep. Duncan Hunter all said they supported the current "don't ask, don't tell" policy.")... it's ridiculous, folks.

You’re right - he doesn’t get the air-time he deserves.

His campaign spot shown on CNN last night, however, wasn’t as polished as the others. Clearly substance is more important than the quality of ad production, but the lack of quality could be indicative of a marketing/presentation deficit in his campaign. Ron Paul’s ad spot for example was more appealing than Hunter’s despite my strong preference for Hunter’s policies.

Hunter’s add spot should have depicted closed schools, recurrence of disease, deaths directly related to illegal immigration, terrorism, overburdened hospitals, and then maybe a quick shot of the fence and his efforts to get it built. The ad came across as if the emphasis was on getting the fence built and not the reasons why the fence needs to be built. The campaign ads are not for us, they’re for those who are clueless about what’s going on - a fence without clear description of its purpose may not grab the attention of those who aren’t following the issues.

Some people (CNN) shouldn’t handle ‘guns’.

Speaking of 'handling guns':

The gun control question to Duncan Hunter was interesting.

Would a “lifelong member of the NRA” handle a weapon like he did?

The questioner identified himself as Jay Fox of Boulevard, CA.

From FReeper kabar in another thread:

Tim and Jay Fox are the founders of Fox Bros. Studios. Jay Fox (21 yrs. old) is a senior at Chapman film school in Orange, Ca. Tim Fox (19 yrs. old) is a Sophomore at Grossmont Community College in San Diego, Ca.

They like to ridicule the Minutemen and anti-illegal immigration advocates.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!

Keith Kerr insists that he wasn't a plant (though, he does happen to support Hillary).

Case closed.

How is it that Wyoming is scheduled to have conventions on January 5, second in the nation, but not a single polling organization (Rasmussen, Gallup, Zogby, SurveyUSA, etc.) has released a single poll there yet?

Because the interest of the Media Elites starts and stops at the edge of Outer Suburbia. If it wasn't for jetting into Jackson Hole to buy out the locals and ski 3 days a year, they wouldn't be aware that Wyoming even existed.

Or political correctness, or diversity training, or sensitivity classes or a fellow soldier getting a hardon over you.

“I was really disappointed that they gave so few questions to Hunter. I think he handles himself very well in responses and would be a formidible candidate.”

This is why I don’t see anymore debates after the first one. I was sickened, angry, and depressed that all the questions were going to the first tier. Hunter and Tancredo were all but ignored.

The whole thing is fixed.

As much as we may revel in the falling fortunes of the MSM, the MSM still has undue influence on the direction of our country. The amount of time devoted on and the tenor of their reports on potential candidates goes a long way in creating a bandwagon for their favored candidates. After the initial stages of the agenda are accomplished, the MSM proceeds to start classifying the candidates into tiers so they can justify giving even more time to their favored candidates. If the data were available, I would wager that Hillary has been given five to seven times the coverage of any the candidates while Duncan Hunter has been given less than a fraction of one percent of the total time devoted to political reports. The impact of commercials paid for by the candidates pales in comparison to “news” stories which viewers and readers judge as more objective. Hunter’s low ranking is due to the intentional neglect of the MSM.

Which makes me think, do the Dems know about some internal polls which places Hunter higher than what we’re hearing from MSM?

I have long thought that. Which is why the "internal polls" always end up being closer to accurate than those which are doled out for public consumption.

My advice: Ignore the polls. Support the candidate who best mirrors your values. For me, that's Hunter.

...... He’s a dying breed. I don’t know that there are many left like him.

He could be, but look at it this way, his son is going to make a run in politics. We can hold out hope that he'll be just as solid as his old man is. There could be a future there.
