They showed the response to Thompson's answer and the expert said that it was as close to PERFECT as he's ever seen!
Thompson said that we should ENFORCE enforce our borders.
And Fox says that Thompson is on the side of America on this issue

Yes, we should enforce the border. But by that standard, we should all be presidents!!!!!
I guess his commenting on how several fox news folks seemed to be against him worked to get them moved back to the good side.
His answer was that he had been for it back in 1994, because he didn’t believe don’t ask, don’t tell, would work.
But now it’s been working fine, and he sees know reason to change it. And further, during a war is not the time to be having that conversation.
Romney is not supporting a change in “Don’t ask, Don’t tell”.
I was in Raleigh last night on business and could not watch the debate. With me was a bigwig in the NC state Democratic party machine. I asked him which Republican he wanted most & least to get the nomination. He said that Huckabee and McCain would be the easiest to beat, Rudy and Mitt would make a tight race, but that Fred simply looked like the POTUS. He said that their G2 was that folks immediately associate Fred with L&O and other roles where he played the POTUS and the trust and believability meters go off the charts. He said that Fred’s campaigning style was too unknown to them to precisely evaluate, but, he did not think the Democrats had a candidate who could beat him in the general election.
FWIW
Geraldo’s hard to take, but his reports from Iraq have been great and you might want to suffer through one or two, because it’s GREAT news about how he is able to walk down streets that used to be off-limits to just about everybody.
Wish that were so, I guess we’ll see in the next few polls.
It was actually Frank Luntz who, in the past was a Rudy supporter.. next conspiracy..
I missed that question - called away from the TV by she who must be obeyed. I’m a Northerner (WA) but my ancestors were all Southerners, (NC,SC TN, TX, AK) and if it wasn’t for the failed reconstruction, followed by the great depression that forced the family west, we would still be Southerners. I have found several on my family tree who have served in the CSA. This Nazification of my ancestors makes me very angry.
I would bet for a majority of Americans that is the very first thing they think of when they see that. I doubt 10% think of it just as Southern Heritage. Most probably view it as a symbol of rebellion over the right of one person to own another person. States treading on the individual's rights.
Can you imagine CNN allowing any questions about meaningless stuff (for a president) that divide the Democrats at their debate? Nope.
All the big issues in this campaign, and CNN went right down the list of issues that cut our base into pieces. Very little focus on what we all agree on.
If the election is about the Confederate Flag, we will lose, because the Northern and Southern republicans just don’t agree on the issue, and as stupid as it is you can’t fix it.
I think after a century we can stop fighting that war.
And, keeping them awake long enough to see him swing......
Better
Thompson 5% in post debate poll
Which one?
You mean the border fence Dncan Hunter pushed through congress? That 854 mile double walled border fence??? The one Duncan Hunter vows to complete in six months?? O.K., just checking :)
“...Romney lost major points with me on his now is not the time answer. He never did answer the question. I dont have to agree with your stance, Governor - just have one!”
Romney did answer the question, Cooper keeps asking him if he has changed his mind but Romney in a rare case stuck to his guns and stayed with his goal of getting gays and lesbians fully into the military.
+One issue I want to clarify concerns [grammar in context] President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.+
CNN Transcript:
Cooper: Governor Romney, you said in 1994 that you looked forward to the day when gays and lesbians could serve, and I quote, “openly and honestly in our nation’s military.” Do you stand by that?
Romney: This isn’t that time. This is not that time. We’re in the middle of a war. The people who have...
Cooper: Do you look forward to that time, though, one day?
Romney: I’m going to listen to the people who run the military to see what the circumstances are like. And my view is that, at this stage, this is not the time for us to make that kind of...
Cooper: Is that a change in your position...
Romney: Yes, I didn’t think it would work. I didn’t think “don’t ask/don’t tell” would work. That was my — I didn’t think that would work. I thought that was a policy, when I heard about it, I laughed. I said that doesn’t make any sense to me.
And you know what? It’s been there now for, what, 15 years? It seems to have worked.
Cooper: So, just so I’m clear, at this point, do you still look forward to a day when gays can serve openly in the military or no longer?
Romney: I look forward to hearing from the military exactly what they believe is the right way to have the right kind of cohesion and support in our troops and I listen to what they have to say.
(Audience booing)
Have we become so used to postulating, finger pointing, raised voice candidates/politicians that we think someone who talks to use in an even voice, as though we were intelligent enough to understand without being yelled at, - doesn't have 'conviction'?
Good! Then Fred agrees with Duncan Hunter, who actually authored the Secure Fence Act, extending the San Diego fence 854 miles across California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Duncan Hunter is a man of action. He doesn't just talk about border security, he built the double fence between the San Diego - Tijuana corridor cutting border crossings, human & drug trafficking by 90% and as a direct result decreased crime in San Diego by 53% by FBI statistics. Instead of 2012, Duncan Hunter pledge to complete the fence and secure our borders in 6 months!
Join Duncan Hunter to restore the GOP to its conservative roots. Our borders can be secure, our sovereignty preserved, our industrial base restored, our unborns rescued, and our Christian family values kept whole. Duncan Hunter always puts America first. Duncan Hunter "will never apologize for America." Let's help him get the job done for all of our sakes.
