You're probably right about Mr. Hunter and Mr. Tancredo, but I not happy with the thought of having to give up on them. There will be a sense of relief when the withdraw, but I sometimes enjoy making myself believe that maybe there's still a chance. That belief makes me feel better about the country.
Plus he has two first names.
LOL Thanks for the laugh. I once had a meeting with three guys with names like Ron Paul, Joe Allen, and Frank Bruce (not their real names). I remembered thinking as I went into the meeting, "Gee, three guys and not a last name among them." Of course, my last name is also a first name, so I guess anyone passing by the meeting would have thought, "Gee, four guys and not a last name among them." That thought only makes the situation funnier.

For what it’s worth, the DU wing nuts are hoping for a Huckabee candidacy. They think that Huckabee would be the easiest to beat by any Democrat, they think that Huckabee = Dole.

I thought the Huckabee/Tancredo exchange on the Mars question was very telling. Huckabee’s first instinct is, “heck yeah, we’ll spend some more money going to Mars”, and then he got off his funny line on Hillary. And Tancredo called him on it. Spend, spend, spend, you can’t have fiscal restraint, and be all things to all people. Huckabee is a spender, which makes his anti-tax answers sound as hollow as they are.

Sorry, I don’t froth and obsess about RG well known NYC domestic policy moves while Major.
I’m very familiar with all the candidates records, their good votes and bad votes, their speeches, their town hall meetings, their pluses and minuses, their good positions and bad positions, their wives, families, kids, and on and on.
We are at war in two theaters, and have enemies at home and abroad to worry about, and make decisions about. We have Iran building nukes, and serious energy problems at home.
Our soldiers and our mission need our attention now.
And the UnAmerican Democrat Party who have been undermining our President during wartime, aiding and abetting the enemy, leaking intell to the enemy, and sabotaging our war efforts are threatening us right now, not a Republican primary candidate.

" The question isn't whether it was breaking the law or not...the question was, was the law a good one? I.e., do you believe it?"
It was a good law for it's time. It was a very just and humane law. It require the Israelites to have a day of rest. Can you imagine a society that worked all day, every day of the week with no break? That's the kind of unending labor many societies have known. That was not what God intended - He knew people needed to rest - He knew they required it. This person's bad example had to be put down harshly to save the society from devolving into a habit of ceaseless labor.
"the Lord has already stated the punishments for violating one of His laws, and stoning isn't the answer (it was "exile" or..."
The sentence was:
"Because he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him."
"Utterly cut off" means execution in the Bible. So he knew the penalty before he broke the law.

Hunter always looks and sounds good but he cant win the nomination. You know...I see and hear this all the time. What I have not seen nor heard is WHY NOT?
It appears to be the old "tell a lie often enough it becomes truth" diddy.

Ill take Romney over Huckabee, though. Yeah, Mr. Huckabee may not recover from the illegal alien scholarship issue. If he can't understand that his program rewarded children for their parents' crimes, then he's not fit to be president. I'm willing to support the space program somewhat, but Tom Tancredo hit him pretty hard on the Mars mission question. On the death penalty question, there was a simpler and better answer. If one believes what Jesus said when He said "I and My Father are One," then Jesus would approve what God approved. In the Old Testament, God approved execution as punishment for many crimes, and there is no conflict between Jesus and God, The Father. He's a good speaker, but he may fade after tonight.
